"Sinful woman... Now, repent."
―Gallerian Octo

Gallerian Octo, codenamed No. 8 and also regarded as the Master of the Hellish Yard, was an assassin in the USE Dark Star Bureau's PN and the underling of First Santa Claus. After carrying out a job to kill his lover Bruno Sudou, he swore vengeance on his former master and mother, possessed by the Demon of Wrath. He was one of Behemo's reincarnations.

History[]

Early History[]

"Hey father, you labored on your own to raise me. I was born in a deserted house in the forest, I didn't even know my mother's face."
―Gallerian's perception of his childhood

Gallerian was conceived from an adulterous, incestuous affair between Nemesis Marlon and Ma under the alias "Gakuga Octo", with Gakuga using the baby as a receptacle for Behemo's soul. After Gallerian was born in EC 964, Ma left the baby for dead in the Millennium Tree Forest. Rather than killing the infant, however, Ma's apprentice Hanma Baldured decided to raise him himself, taking on the alias "Nikolay Tolle" while occasionally watching over Gallerian in an abandoned house.

Raised in isolation and largely ignorant of his parents, over time Gallerian concocted a delusion that his father Gakuga, at least, had not abandoned him and was instead just away for long periods of time, inventing occasions where Ma would come by and visit, or even celebrate holidays with him. While periodically waiting for his father's "return," Gallerian was tormented at least once by the voices of Hänsel and Gretel insisting he'd really been abandoned. Growing up in the forest, he also found himself protected again and again by apparent chance coincidences, unaware that the god in the forest, Clarith, was protecting him.

In EC 970, Gallerian found a small Ziz Tiama that was really Meta Twiright in a shape-shifted Grim the End and adopted her, believing her to be a Christmas present from his father. That night, when Meta approached him in a dream, he unwittingly made a contract with her as the Demon of Wrath and became close friends with his new pet "Ziz-san." As he grew older, Nikolay taught Gallerian how to get along alone in the forest, under the guise of being a friend of his frequently absent father. He also taught him a limited amount of magic, including ice magic as well as how to telepathically communicate with Ziz-san.

A Life of Crime[]

By the time he was fourteen, Gallerian joined the Zeus gang in Aceid. In EC 978, when the Zeus member Dio Ameth was found murdered, Gallerian and Ziz-san accompanied the gang's leader, Narcissus Kissos, to a bar frequented by their rival gang Hades. After they were approached by the bar's owner, the Hades' leader Hardy, Gallerian watched Hardy and Narcissus confront each other. When Hardy prepared to have all of the Hades members gang up on Narcissus, Gallerian, who himself had been grabbed by a member, telepathically commanded Ziz-san to restrain their opponents with her tentacles.

With Hardy at his mercy, Gallerian questioned him over Dio's death; when Hardy denied Hades' involvement in the matter, he had Ziz-san let the members of Hades go and prepared to leave with Narcissus. Just before he did, Hardy added that the wealthy Midas Touch might have been involved in Dio's death. Resolving to investigate later, Gallerian and Narcissus parted ways after leaving the bar and Nemesis took Ziz-san to the Millennium Tree Forest, dropping her off in the Lake of Amusement.

While there, Gallerian visited with Nikolay in his tent, requesting that he look after his pet. After the two discussed Ziz-san for a time, Gallerian talked about Nikolay's current drawing, learning it was of his estranged son, until he changed the topic to how he disapproved of him being in Zeus. After brushing off his concerns, Gallerian went home. Three days later, Narcissus called him back to meet with the others at their abandoned factory hideout. There, he and the other members of Zeus watched as Narcissus brought in a man called "Kandi", who made a deal with them to assassinate Midas Touch while he was sailing back to Elphegort on the S.S. Titanis.

After trying and failing to be included in the assassination party, Gallerian chatted with Pan about the upcoming job, among other things. Three days later, Gallerian accompanied some of his fellows to a port to await the return of the assassination party. When the group arrived, Gallerian and the others were horrified to learn that their comrade Remes had been killed, and that Midas had spotted all of their faces and was in prime position to identify them later.

As all of his friends panicked, Gallerian realized what he needed to do and telepathically commanded Ziz-san to sink the S.S. Titanis, killing everyone aboard. After he returned to his shocked friends, the group prepared to leave with the money they obtained; right before he left with them, Gallerian received a doll that Ziz-san had fished from the wreckage. He and the others then returned to the hideout and listened to the radio report on the sinking. Later that year, Gallerian heard Clarith speaking to him through the doll he'd brought back, telling him that a group was coming to capture him and to flee his home.

Realizing he'd been found out, Gallerian listened to the voice's further warnings and then fled, deciding to go pick up Ziz-san first. As he approached the cave where she was kept, Nemesis ran into Nyoze Zero and Mira Elphen, who had arrived to arrest him at gunpoint. As he fled to Ziz-san's pool, he ran into Nikolay, who went to meet with his pursuers, and then found to his horror that Ziz-san's pool had been frozen over. Nyoze, Mira, and Nikolay then arrived, and Gallerian was enraged as Nikolay disavowed all ties to him and prepared to turn him in for his crimes. Prevented from fleeing by his former father-figure, Gallerian was brought into custody.

An Impossible Romance[]

Imprisoned for his crimes, Gallerian fumed over Nikolay's apparent betrayal in jail, before being brought before Nemesis Marlon in court. After he was sentenced, Nyoze arranged to save him from prison, giving him the alias "Themis Eight" with the cover story that Gallerian Octo had perished. For the next three years, Gallerian lived under the care of the espionage organization Nyoze headed named PN. During this time, Mira taught him marksmanship for self-defense; once Gallerian showed proficiency with a gun, he was inducted into PN as an assassin at the age of seventeen, given the codename No. 8. He also deduced that Nemesis Marlon was the "Master" of PN.

For his new job, Gallerian was sent to live in an apartment in Rolled, Lucifenia, in EC 982. In spring of that year, he went outside to look at a blooming cherry tree and there he met a man in a police uniform. The two fell to chatting, Gallerian learning that the man was Jakokuese and bonding with him over his shared heritage through Gakuga. After further learning that they were both living in the same apartment building, the two introduced themselves, with Gallerian learning that the man was called "Shakuson".

After spending some time together with him, Shakuson flirting with him before returning to work, Gallerian went back to his room and found Nyoze waiting for him with Postman. Gallerian received from him a list of his five targets in Lucifenia, a paper giving him a picture and the location of his first target, and a handgun to complete the job with. He was then informed that Postman would deliver his info on his targets alone on subsequent visits, and that he'd be killed if he refused to complete his missions. Gallerian discussed with Nyoze that a police officer was living right above him, and not long after Nyoze left.

Afterwards, Gallerian began killing the targets on his list, assassinating Ghislain Aug, Rodolphe Hugo, and Thabana Johnson. During this time, he also grew close with Shakuson, the two enjoying spending time together. That summer, Gallerian put on a blue kimono that allegedly belonged to his father and went with Shakuson to see the fireworks festival. While he enjoyed the fireworks with his friend, their conversation turned to the murders occurring in Lucifenia, with the police's investigation not turning up much. After spending a little more time together, the two went back inside while Gallerian feared Shakuson learning his secret.

By Autumn, Shakuson had confessed his feelings for him; although conflicted, Gallerian accepted and the two became a couple. After Gallerian killed her fourth target, he returned to his room to find Postman there; after trying and failing to talk with Postman, Gallerian received his new gun and ruminated on his last target, "Bruno Sudou", after Postman left. Not long after, he went up to visit Shakuson and found his room empty; while waiting for him to return, he stumbled on a letter written to him by his sister.

Reading it, Gallerian was shocked to learn that "Shakuson" was Bruno Sudou a member of the Tasan Party; having been convicted by Nemesis on false charges, he and his fellows planned to take the judge down, and Elluka suggested Bruno keep an eye on Gallerian for that purpose. After Galleriab finished reading the letter, Shakuson entered the room and Gallerian, overwhelmed, excused himself and went home. He resolved not to tell his superiors that Shakuson was Bruno, and continued his relationship with him. In the meantime, he watched as more soldiers arrived in Rolled as a result of the war going on in Evillious.

Goodbyes in Winter[]

"Sorry..."
―Gallerian to Bruno

That winter, the end of EC 982, Gallerian walked with Shakuson and the two discussed their holiday plans, agreeing to celebrate Christmas together. Once he'd returned to his room, however, Gallerian found Postman waiting for him with a Naga Custom 44 and instructions to assassinate Shakuson, whose true identity had been discovered. That Christmas, Gallerian met with Shakuson by the cherry tree where they first met. After receiving his Christmas present, a diamond ring and a marriage proposal, Gallerian aimed his gun at Shakuson.

As he prepared to fire, and Shakuson commented on how he must have learned his identity, Gallerian confronted him on him seemingly just using him to try and take down the Dark Star Bureau. Nonetheless, he tried to convince him to run away with h; Shakuson refused. In the process of citing the reasons it couldn't work, he revealed to Gallerian that Nemesis Marlon, his "Master", was in fact his true mother. After Shakuson comforted him when he became hysterical at this revelation, Gallerian drew back and, filled with sorrow, shot him. He then tried to commit suicide, shooting himself in the temple.

Several minutes later, Gallerian came to in the snow, shocked to have survived. He was greeted by a woman, who brought him inside to talk. The woman, Meta Twiright, explained to him that she was the Demon of Wrath and the true identity of Ziz-san, showing him how Grim the End could shapeshift into a ziz tiama, among other things. She further explained that he had survived his suicide attempt because he was in a contract with her, Gallerian becoming annoyed to hear how she'd tricked him into contracting with her as a child. Once the conversation returned to his desire to die, Meta urged Gallerian to live.

As she transformed Grim the End into a mask and golden bullets, Gallerian listened while she offered him a choice: he could use the bullets to kill the people that were, to him, the most evil, or he could kill himself with them. Eventually, Gallerian decided to not shoot himself, accepting the golden bullets. A day after killing Shakuson, Gallerian fled the country to escape Postman and the police, settling in Retasan. On his fourth morning there, he was drugged and captured by the Tasan Party. Blindfolded and brought to a cell-like room, Gallerian found himself before Bruno's younger sister, Elluka Sudou.

Leviantan Civil War[]

"Relinquish your fortune. If you return everything you stole from the people, your life will be spared."
"I will never hand over my fortune to you!"
―Gallerian and Nemesis

Confronted by the sister of his last victim, Gallerian spoke with Elluka and, as she questioned him, explained that he had gone to Retasan to escape his employers, now hating PN. As Elluka brought up his mother being the head of PN, Gallerian asked to confirm this and learned the entire history between the playwright "Gakuga Octo" and Nemesis Marlon, understanding Nyoze saved him because he was "Master's" son. From there, Elluka discussed the Tasan Party and its goals with Gallerian as she attempted to persuade him to join, particularly their mutual interests in taking down the Dark Star Bureau and ending the war.

As they continued to talk, Gallerian learned that Bruno was the one to learn that he was an assassin for PN. He also discussed with Elluka his youth in Aceid, among other things, as she continually tried to persuade him to join their cause for the sake of "justice" and protecting people. During the conversation, Elluka brought up the letter he'd found from her to Bruno, revealing that Bruno had truly loved him and refused Elluka's proposal to use him. As Elluka suggested he take vengeance against people like Nemesis, who had stolen the one he loved from him, Gallerian finally agreed to help the Tasan Party.

Nearly half a year later, Gallerian visited the grave of Mira Elphen, who had been murdered by General Shiro Netsuma during her massacre at the village of Zenosai. As he paid his respects, he was approached by Elluka and he told her about his relationship with Mira, agreeing that Nemesis had betrayed her memory by allowing Shiro to escape justice. The two then began discussing the progress of the Tasan Party and all the strange occurrences happening in the world, as well as Gallerian ruminating on what she'd learned about his father's history with Nemesis. Elluka then brought Gallerian away from Mira's grave, announcing how it was finally time for revolution in the wake of Shiro's trial.

By August EC 983, the Tasan Party had instigated the Leviantan Civil War. During the fighting, Gallerian infiltrated the home of General Shiro Netsuma while wearing Meta Twiright in her mask form. Attempting to shoot Shiro, Gallerian chased her outside of her mansion and found her in the garden with his family. After confronting her for her crimes and surviving her attempt to kill him, Gallerian shot Shiro with Mira's own Naga Custom 44 handgun. He then allowed her husband and son a chance to flee, brushing off Meta's criticism of this. Afterwards, Gallerian went to meet with Elluka and the other militia soldiers at Nemesis' mansion.

Surprised to find it already burning when he arrived, despite his instructions for him to be allowed to handle Nemesis, Gallerian learned from Meta that Nemesis might have contracted like him and may be responsible for the fire. Soon after, despite Elluka's protests, Gallerian entered the mansion himself to face his mother before she died. He soon found Nemesis in her study, flabbergasted to find her talking to a doll and learning that it was the same one he'd had all those years ago, a demonic vessel like Grim the End.

Gallerian then confronted his mother, revealing his identity and charging her with all of his evil deeds to the public and to him. Gallerian was soon stunned to learn that Nemesis was never responsible for making him an assassin, and in fact had only known his codename while Nyozehandled everything; she also likely didn't know he was her son. As his doubts grew with their conversation, Gallerian offered Nemesis a chance to be saved in exchange for her whole fortune. Finding her unable to repent, and incensed to see her doting on "Michelle", the doll, Gallerian shot Nemesis with one of her golden bullets.

Rise To Power[]

"Now we are all... sons of bitches."
―Someone following the successful test of Punishment

After the civil war, Gallerian became a hero to the people and, thanks to the Tasan Party, narrowly avoided being charged with his murder of Shiro and Nemesis. After his crimes in Zeus were revealed, however, he was sentenced to ten years imprisonment and spent his twentieth birthday in a jail cell. That night, he spotted Postman watching him in his cell, before the figure disappeared. By EC 989, Elluka Sudou had arranged for Gallerian's early release and he rejoined the Tasan Party, becoming elected as its vice leader.

In the meantime, the Tasan Party gained power internationally and in Elphegort in particular. Much later, Elluka Sudou disappeared and Gallerian deduced that she had gone to the Millennium Tree Forest, which had by then become known as "Evil's Forest", seeking the Venom Sword that Nemesis had stolen from her. After traveling to Yatski village eleven years after he had last left the forest, Gallerian decided to give Elluka up for dead in light of the rumors about how dangerous the forest had become. After eating at a bar, Gallerian was approached by a servant of Nikolay Tolle, who brought him to Nikolay's mansion on the edge of town.

Meeting with his former caretaker, Gallerian found her bedridden and near death. Gallerian finally spoke with Nikolay over his apparent betrayal of his so many years ago and questioned him over his true reasons for handing him over to Nyoze. While they talked, Nikolay apologized for how his friends had all been murdered in prison and offered for him to take his revenge by killing him. Although no longer hating him, Gallerian decided to kill him for both revenge and to give his caretaker a quick death, and shot Nikolay with his Naga Custom 44.

Later, with Elluka missing, Gallerian succeeded her as President of the Tasan Party; by EC 993, the party had gained enough power to take control of the Elphegort government, with Gallerian becoming the country's dictator. Gallerian then ordered Elphegort's army to invade Lucifenia. Sparking a war with the USE, Gallerian immediately allied his nation with Beelzenia and Jakoku, and war spread across the entire world.

With the USE army pushing a two-front offensive upon Elphegort, Gallerian visited the underground laboratory Lunaca Labora seeking a weapon to make Elphegort stronger. With Meta Twiright's reluctant help, Nemesis revived the "girl of destruction" that she had sealed away, which had the power to destroy all of the Third Period. He then presented it to Elphegort's scientists and ordered his military to launch a secret project to develop a weapon based on the "girl": Punishment.

Hell Called Evillious[]

In EC 998, a prototype for Punishment was created and moved to the Millennium Tree Forest for testing. With a golden key in hand, Gallerian inserted it into the black box and fired the weapon, resulting in the entire Millennium Tree Forest being scorched by the blast. A second testing was arranged soon after; although intending to destroy Maistia's western coast, the weapon misfired and destroyed Onigashima instead. With both tests successful, numerous models of Punishment were pointed across the world.

As the conflict continued, Gallerian attended a war meeting with his underlings General Areus Hymn, Gigaty, Polrio, Grand, Mima, and Encheri. As Areus expressed his concern over how poorly Elphegort was doing in the war, Gallerian reassured him by reminding him of Punishment; when Areus gave further doubts over the death toll and potential of misfire, Gallerian claimed that he intended it to be used more as a threat than a first resort. The meeting was then adjourned, and Gallerian returned to his room to do more work. Looking out the window, he saw a commotion with a woman trying to enter the party's headquarters with a cart.

When Polrio came to deliver papers to her, Gallerian discussed the commotion with him; he witnessed the woman reveal a tiger in the cart and watched as the headquarters came under attack from several soldiers, realizing that they were from PN and Maistia. After Polrio delivered him to safety with the other Tasan Party officials, Gallerian stood by as the headquarters and the safe room were invaded, several of his officials becoming injured or killed. As the leader of his attackers attempted to shoot him, Gallerian caused the gun to misfire and injure his hand.

He then confronted the leader, recognizing him as Nyoze Zero, and soon after had him restrained and searched; given a note found on Bruno's person, he learned that someone had leaked information about Punishment to the opposing side. Speaking again with Nyoze, Gallerian acknowledged that he had saved him due to being the son of someone he loved, and that he was the reason he'd become the man he was today. Gallerian then shot him, taking his revenge on Nyoze once and for all.

The following year, Gallerian visited the site of the destroyed Millennium Tree Forest and found Evil's Theater there, completely intact. Going inside, he entered the room where all of the vessels of sin Nemesis had collected were kept; while there, he was greeted by his father, "Gakuga", who confronted him over using the "girl of destruction" to destroy the forest. Gallerian then related everything that he had done for Elphegort's sake, including killing Nyoze. Gakuga also brought up Gallerian's murder of Nikolay; during the course of their discussion, Gakuga revealed to Gallerian the truth of how he had abandoned him since birth.

Gakuga also brought in Postman, and explained how the figure had once been Nikolay's son until Ma had turned him into his emotionless servant. While Gallerian was devastated by these revelations, Gakuga began strangling him; he revealed he was able to do this due to having six of the Demons of Sin inside her, and planned to absorb the Demon of Wrath from Gallerian after killing him. Gakuga was then stabbed by Postman using the Venom Sword, releasing Gallerian.

Realizing Gakuga wouldn't die unless killed by a contractor, Gallerian prepared to shoot his own father, bemoaning how he was unable to save the world and deciding to destroy it instead. As Gakuga started to comment on this, Gallerian shot him with Grim the End, killing him and causing his consciousness to secretly take refuge in Postman. After mourning over her father's corpse, Gallerian returned to the Tasan Party's headquarters. There he fired the Punishment weapon a final time and destroyed all life in the Third Period.

World's End[]

After the destruction of the world, Gallerian's soul was separated from his body and became deluded into thinking he was still Behemo, while his body stayed alive due to his contract. As the Third Period merged with the Hellish Yard, the soulless body ended up in the Grave Yard and began to instinctively carry out the last things that he had done before losing his soul: killing Ma and destroying the world. Not long after, Rin Avadonia fetched Gallerian's body and brought him to the delusional Behemo, using the body's memories to break the delusion and merge body and soul back together.

With his consciousness restored, Gallerian stood in the ruined world with Rin, Irina, Meta, and Clarith, as Rin explained to him the truth of all that had transpired. He then talked to Clarith and Irina with Meta, learning how the three had all watched over him and protected him in their respective ways. After talking with his old friends a little longer, Gallerian heard Rin suggest they go to Evil's Theater next to solve some remaining mysteries she had of the world's end. Agreeing to help, Gallerian and his friends set out to save the world.

Alarming Developments[]

Splitting up with Irina, Clarith, and Meta, Rin and Gallerian trekked towards the site of Evil's Theater. They planned to visit it and then the remains of Lucifenia, with Gallerian hoping to thank Postman, whom he'd realized was an incarnation of Alexiel, for saving his life. As they walked, Gallerian began to complain of his fatigue, bantering with Rin about his contract keeping him alive as he stopped to rest. He continued to bicker with her as she pressed him to keep going, before finally relenting, and the two discussed their plans and current situation as they walked.

Eventually the two reached the illusory remains of the Millennium Tree Forest, talking to each other about how it was there despite the real forest being destroyed. Their conversation soon turned to the owner of the Black Box where Rin learned all of her information, Gallerian under the assumption that "Sickle" was really Luna Hazuki. The two continued their conversation, with Gallerian also briefly catching sight of another forest spirit, before Held joined their conversation as a bluebird.

Held and Gallerian proceeded to banter about his destruction of the world and the nature of "evil"; during the debate, Held directed his attention towards the Black Box Type S in the sky that they should deal with, with the group realizing the box wasn't an illusion like the rest of the world and could potentially do harm. Gallerian and Rin thus resolved to go check it out, particularly as Evil's Theater was underneath it. They then bid Held farewell, Gallerian refusing his offer to go see Behemo's old colleagues. During their farewells, Held explained that he became an earth god on the Moon Goddess' will.

As they trekked south, Gallerian and Rin discussed the Moon Goddess, whose identity Gallerian was unsure of. Arriving at the black box, the two watched as Elluka Sudou addressed dead soldiers of the Tasan Party and laid blame for the world's end on him and all the other "evil" souls of the world. Hearing Elluka conclude that they must destroy the alleged sources of all evil--that being the demon contractors Carlos Marlon, Gakuga Octo, Alexiel, Gumina Venomania, and Gallerian himself--Rin and Gallerian departed.

Leaving the forest, they discuss what they heard in Elluka's speech as well as speculating about their next move. Determining Elluka intended to use the Black Box Type S against the demon contractors, Gallerian and Rin decide to seek out Meta and Irina, Meta being the creator of the Black Box Type S. After talking further, the two eventually decided to head to Lucifenia as they originally planned, in part to talk to Alexiel and in hopes of meeting Irina there.

The Battle and the Black Box[]

"Who is he thinking of while continuing to gaze at the black fireworks dancing in the sky?"
―Gallerian watching the Black Box crash

Arriving in Lucifenia, Rin and Gallerian found it had become a battleground between the spirits of Lucifenians, and more of the dead Tasan soldiers, with Alexiel having already fled. After Gallerian dissuaded Rin from jumping in needlessly to help, the two spotted the Phutapie Mercenaries nearby and approached them, Rin hiring them to also fight in the battle.

Much later, when the Black Box Type S started to suck up all the souls on the battlefield, Gallerian approached Anne and the other souls left in the palace. After meeting with Anne directly, Gallerian promised to deal with the box and headed to the rooftop. Once there, he carefully took aim and fired at a weak spot in the black box's design, causing the box to malfunction, emit sparks, and crash. With all the souls sucked into it released, Gallerian learned from the freed Germaine Beelzenia that the box's function was actually "formatting" souls, not sending them elsewhere, meaning it wasn't the kind that Meta made after all.

Internally determining one other person who could have made it besides himself, Gallerian announced he and Rin would go again in search of Alexiel and Irina. He also suggested going to see Carlos as well and argued with Anne against the possibility of also talking to Lich Arklow to help revive the world. With Rin's persuasion, Gallerian finally agreed to try and help in this matter as well, and he and Rin set out first for Beelzenia. Arriving there, the two met with Eater Sabella in his Worldeater form; after they introduced themselves, Eater took them into the mansion.

Meeting with Carlos Marlon, Gallerian spoke with him, debating about all that Carlos knew of the Second Period from his time as a demon and his knowledge gained from Vlad Tuberci. Not long after, Lich was summoned to the meeting and Gallerian asked him about his intentions in the ended world, relieved to hear that he himself had no intention of trying to revive it. Afterwards, Carlos summoned Arte and Pollo and announced his intentions to go to Evil's Theater to stop Elluka. Gallerian soon invited himself along; after Rin was also convinced to join them, the party set once more for the Millennium Tree Forest.

The End of Capriccio[]

Arriving at Evil's Theater with Carlos and his servants, Gallerian and Rin helped engage in battle with the theater inhabitants, Gallerian and Rin dealing with Elluka directly. During their battle, the three of them were interrupted by the irregular twins Adam and Eve. The twins were soon followed by Alexiel, who had become possessed by Ma's consciousness inside him and had absorbed all of the demon contractors in the theater.

As Ma attacked them in Alexiel's body, the twins Adam and Eve prematurely began their Re_birthday ability to stop him. After Ma escaped the rapidly transforming theater, Gallerian pulled Rin out to safety as well, although forced to leave Elluka behind. After Carlos' servants also escaped, the party flew away from the theater on Eater's back. From afar they watched the theater turn into a giant black box, Gallerian explaining to the concerned Rin how it might be "formatting" everyone inside.

Soon after, Gallerian and the others learned the possessed Alexiel had also successfully escaped, spotting him on the ground. Appraising the situation, and seeing that Ma threatened to suck all of Evillious into his developing vortex, Gallerian urged Rin to decide between the world or her brother. Rin instead came up with a plan to get Ma out of Alexiel first before defeating him, to which Gallerian reluctantly agreed. Touching back down, Eater let Rin off to distract Ma and flew away again with Gallerian.

Humanity's Demise[]

Reaching the center of the area, while the forest spirits cloaked his presence Gallerian put inscription marks on the ground to boost his power. He then created a tornado that sucked up Rin and Ma; riding on Eater, Gallerian pulled Rin out of the tornado while Ma was still trapped inside. Not long after, the tornado began to weaken from Ma's magic. Ma began flying towards Gallerian and Rin, only to be stopped by Clarith, and soon nearly every soul, singing the Clockwork Lullaby.

During this, the demon Marie Annette flew up to Gallerian and the others with a green onion from Irina. Conceiving of a plan, Gallerian used the green onion to request of Irina that she have Meta break his demonic contract. He then attempted to pull a body swap on Ma; as Ma resisted the spell and used one on Gallerian in turn, the two struggled until Rin attacked Ma with Grim the End, breaking his control on the contractors inside him.

As Ma's consciousness dispersed, he desperately attacked Gallerian, who swapped his soul into the Clockworker's Doll being held by Alexiel. His soul safe in the doll, Gallerian allowed Ma to take over his body; as Ma fell to the ground, Meta broke Gallerian's contract and his body, as well as Ma, was killed on impact.

Waltz of the Deceased[]

After Rin and Alexiel later created a new world with the Re_birthday function, he was asked by Anne about Amostia; shocked, he revealed her name and remarked there wasn't anything they could do about her, not knowing where she went off to with Luna Hazuki. Still in the doll, Gallerian later participated in the ball at the Lucifenian Royal Palace; around this time, before being incorporated into the Fourth Period, where he, as Behemo became one of the members of the "Evillious" SNS group chat, commenting on the state of the new world.

Legacy[]

Following the destruction of the ground world, the mortal realm began merging with the Hellish Yard and all souls of the Heavenly Yard were pulled from the moon into the ruined planet. Shortly after its destruction, the god Sickle prepared to intervene and tasked Rin with meeting some of the souls who had been possessed by the Demons of Sin.

Personality and Traits[]

"He led his life always being led along by someone. Because he recognized that himself, he always directed his anger outwards. 'I'm not the one to blame, it's some other person.'"
―Behemo about Gallerian

Gallerian was a just, passionate but wrathful man, blaming others for his own mistakes and directing his anger towards them as a result. Possessing an eye-for-an-eye mentality, Gallerian was quick to take revenge when he saw fit, justifying it as righteous vengeance and holding decades-long grudges. He also took any means to that end, even breaking the law, and reveled in the destruction of his enemies.

This mentality, conversely, made him set on doing things he perceived were ways to atone for his own transgressions, to the point of committing more wrongs to atone for previous wrongs. As part of his atonement for his crimes, Gallerian worked to help Elphegort as its dictator, using the Great War and Punishment in order to save both the country and the entire world.

Due to his true nature as Behemo, Gallerian was a HER and desired the destruction of the world, hearing Gallerian's voice in his mind as part of his condition. Like Behemo, he also preferred to escape reality and construct comfortable delusions, as with his perceived familial relationship with Ma. After learning of Ma's true history with him, Gallerian felt betrayed by everyone he knew, having been constantly dependent on someone for most of his life. He thus decided to destroy the world if he couldn't save it, culminating his destructive tendencies. After regaining his past memories as Levia at the world's end, however, Gallerian became more subdued about his actions, although having little regret for them.

As a youth, Gallerian was not above criminal activity, having been a member of Zeus. As part of this, he was loyal to his friends and took extreme measures to protect them, using Ziz-san to sink the S.S. Titanis. As he grew up, Gallerian also hated studying, finding school boring. During his later life, Gallerian also took measures to avoid assassination, and referred to himself in an archaic manner, considering himself Master of the Hellish Yard and Evillious to be hell. With regards to ethnicity, Gallerian considered himself both Marlon and Jakokuese, using his Jakokuese identity to connect with both Ma and Bruno.

Skills and Abilities[]

"Understood. Then…I shall have ‘No. 8’ take care of it. They are our most accomplished assassin in the Dark Star Bureau’s Special Maneuvers Task Force, ‘PN’, after all."
―Nyoze regarding Gallerian

Gallerian was a trained killer and had immense skill with wielding a revolver, although he had skill with other kinds of guns besides. After becoming part of the Tasan Party, Gallerian gained immense political power within the decade. As the dictator of Elphegort, he held absolute power over the nation and its military. Following the development of Punishment, Gallerian was able to freely fire the device at will using the golden key he carried and could potentially wipe out all of the Evillious region with the weapon.

Due to his contract with the Demon of Wrath, Gallerian was unable to be killed by ordinary means, essentially making him immortal. Despite this, the contractor's wounds didn't automatically heal while near the demon's vessel, leaving a serious scar following his suicide attempt. Regardless, he was still able to wield Grim the End, allowing him to use the demon's power to kill other contractors through the vessel; to complement his fighting style, Gallerian transformed the golden key into a bullet for his revolver. Thanks to Hanma, he was also capable of a small amount of magic, specifically telepathic communication and ice magic.

Character Connections[]

Meta Twiright: Gallerian's pet and partner. Originally knowing Meta as his pet "Ziz-san" and unaware of her true nature, Gallerian bonded with her and the two worked together as beast and master, Gallerian becoming distraught by her "death". Once Meta was revealed as the Demon of Wrath, Gallerian continued to work with her and depend on her abilities, although he became skeptical of whether or not she was really his friend. This skepticism later compounded when his memories as Behemo returned.

Behemo Barisol: Gallerian's true self. Behemo having HER influenced Gallerian subconsciously throughout his life. When the world ended and after his soul was restored to his body, Gallerian came to terms with the fact he was Behemo, although continuing to identify as Gallerian for simplicity's sake and in respect to his physical body.

Kiril Clockworker: Gallerian's past incarnation. Gallerian inherited some of Kiril's personality after gaining his and Behemo's memories.

Bruno Sudou: Gallerian's lover. Finding him eccentric but kind, and bonding with him over their shared Jakokuese heritage, Gallerian quickly came to like Bruno under his alias "Shakuson" and the two became close. Because of this, Gallerian became conflicted by their vast differences in profession and what he saw to be differences in their character, as well as distressed when believing he may have just been using him for the Tasan Party. Gallerian naturally experienced deep regret at his death, longing to have had a happy future with him forever after.

Nemesis Marlon: Gallerian's master, mother, and half-sister. Gallerian was originally loyal to Nemesis as the "Master" and followed her every order, although becoming resentful of his work as an assassin and wrathful towards her for him having to kill Bruno. After learning she was his mother, he similarly resented her failure to acknowledge him. Although much of his wrath towards her was mitigated by learning Nemesis was not responsible for the pain she caused him, Gallerian still resented her obvious greed, as well as the love and attention she gave to the Clockworker's Doll instead of him. He ended up killing her without remorse.

Nikolay Tolle: Gallerian's caretaker. Ignorant of Nikolay's past, Gallerian saw him as a friend of his father's and gradually came to consider him like a father to him. Because of this, he was shocked and enraged by what he perceived as his betrayal, leading to his arrest. Despite his rage, by the time they met again his anger had cooled and Gallerian parted with him on good terms, killing him by his request.

Ma: Gallerian's father and grandfather. Knowing him as "Gakuga Octo", Gallerian was unable to accept that he had abandoned him and created a delusion of him as a loving albeit often absent father, constructing entire memories of him giving him gifts for Christmas, teaching him to wear kimonos, and other such things. After learning the truth about "Gakuga," Gallerian was devastated and reviled him, killing Ma and resolving to destroy the entire world in the wake of his betrayal.
