Levia Barisol, also known as the true Master of the Heavenly Yard, was one of the four gods in the Evillious universe. Originally a human from the First Period, Levia later joined the earthlings in their digital universe, bringing them into reality to revitalize the destroyed world. She later joined Behemo in the earthlings' rebellion against Luna Hazuki, becoming sealed in Sin and incarnating in the corpse of Irina Clockworker.
History[]
Early Life[]
Levia Barisol lived in the technologically-advanced First Period, Earth. Born the wealthy only daughter of Barisol, Levia developed an affinity for books and the study of the human mind, to the disgust of her peers. Later, Levia started dating a butler under her employ. When one days she requested to study the man's mind so she could research about it, the uncomfortable man denied the request.
During this time, humanity created a virtual world known as the Second Period; due to being related to one of the developers, Levia had the avatar based on herself revised to be a boy, Levia Barisol, as she want to study the mind of a man. As the avatars became too advanced in terms of intelligence and technology, the First Period humans decided to create a crisis in the form of HER. However, Behemo made contact with the First Period, thinking Levia was himself from a parallel world.
Later on, Levia hid from angry voices in a room surrounded by rip out pages of books. As she did, she found herself rescued by Behemo, creating a new avatar of herself within the Second Period that, this time, had no revisions.
Escape from Reality[]
While in the digital world, Levia became employed at Professor Held Yggdra's clinic and research facility and became Behemo's coworker. During this time, she studied under Professor Lich Arklow, as well as Held, and had an artificial eye installed into her body. As the Second Period began to collapse due to HERs contaminating the world, Levia, Behemo, and 70 other scientists boarded one of several spaceships intended to travel to inhabitable planets and repopulate them, theirs under the name Climb One; Levia then made it so that the Climb One would bring them into reality.
As they lost contact with all their fellow spaceships, the crew of the Climb One realized they were the last inhabitants of Earth and decided to create a new species in the image of earthlings, Behemo in charge of creating their bodies. While making the bodies, he also created a body shaped like a dragon from fantasy.
After finding a new planet to inhabit, really the site of the destroyed Earth, they set about constructing the new world and species; they also set up an underground laboratory to hold their equipment, Lunaca Labora, which led into a separate repository called the Grave Yard. Levia was placed in charge of the Grave Yard. During this time, Levia was also present at a research facility was established on the moon above the planet. At some point, she also engineered the Black Box Type B, with one ending up in the Grave Yard.
During this Seth Twiright, an HER who had secretly boarded the Climb One, instigated the deaths of 62 of the crew members and contaminated the new species to have a possibility of developing HER Syndrome. The remaining crew, including Levia, proposed they reincarnate as gods into the world to guide the humans, unaware that at least Behemo was an HER. When Held and Luna Hazuki disagreed, Levia joined the ensuing fight and was killed along with everyone else when it caused the Climb One to crash, leaving behind only her spirit data. Although Behemo and Levia planned to escape using the dragon body Behemo made, Held and Luna had sabotaged the plan beforehand.
Levia and her colleagues remained trapped in the Climb One for some time while the new species of humans began building their societies.Around this time, they forgot Luna's existence. Eventually, the humans of Magic Kingdom Levianta discovered the Climb One; Levia and Behemo began whispering to Alice Merry-Go-Round, establishing her as a prophet and themselves as gods, with a lofty account of the Third Period's creation. The two became worshiped in the new Levin faith and a temple was built around the Climb One, renamed the "Sin" ark.
False Gods[]
While establishing themselves as deities, the earthlings came in contact with Seth Twiright, who had had reincarnated as a human and later become a scientist in the new Magic Kingdom Levianta; having succumbed to HER Syndrome, Levia and the others plotted with him to destroy the Third Period. As Seth refused to move them into new bodies, Levia and Behemo also plotted to make proper bodies for themselves, planning to make them with earthling DNA so that they could use Black Box Type L and move them out of the Sin.
In BT 005 the two "gods", acting as Alice's parents, told her that they would destroy the world if their worshipers didn't cleanse the ark Sin by creating human vessels for them. Prophet Marry-Go-Round shared the twin gods' lies with the nation and started Project 'Ma' to create suitable twin vessels for them to inhabit; its second project finally produced the twins Hänsel and Gretel on December 27, EC 0, only for the mother Meta Salmhofer to flee with the twins shortly after. As Project 'Ma' faced continual failure over the years, Levia and Behemo grew impatient.
After Kiril Clockworker witnessed his fiancée Elluka Chirclatia murder his sister Irina in EC 013, the twin gods decided to entice the man to free them from Sin in their dragon body, unwilling to wait for their bodies to grow up and knowing that, as a clone of Seth's human form, Kiril could use Black Box Type L. Impersonating Irina, Levia enticed Kiril to go to the Sin and cast the Clockwork Secret Art to restore the aged device, as well as to use the black box. Before Levia and Behemo could transfer into the dragon body, however, the mindless beast grew violent and destroyed the ark, and the black box transferred Levia and Behemo into Elluka's corpse instead before it exploded from misuse.
Eternal Sorceress[]
Once incarnated into Irina Clockworker's corpse, Levia became the active consciousness while Behemo slumbered in the subconscious. Believing herself to be the real Irina, the reincarnated Levia awoke to the destroyed Levianta and became consumed with grief. "Irina Clockworker" met with Held a few years later and was tasked with collecting the vessels of sin, accepting the quest to pass her "newfound" immortality.
Over the centuries, Irina traveled across Evillious, helping anyone in need that she came across and getting involved with the Venomania Event, the Disappearance of Evil Food Eater Conchita, the Lucifenian Expansion War, and Alexiel's evil reign. During the latter period, she incarnated Held's forest spirits Kyle and Gumillia as humans, training the latter as her apprentice.
Irina and Gumillia continued the search for the vessels of sin across the continent while pursuing Elluka who was also seeking the vessels. After Irina confronted Adam Moonlit and forced the scientist's spirit into her own, her memories as Levia reawakened. In denial of her true nature, Irina continued pursuing the pink rabbit mage Elluka Clockworker and eventually dueled her at Merrigod Plateau on January 30, EC 611. After Elluka activated her Black Box Type S during the duel, Levia was transported into her own inner psychological world and was forced to confront the reality of her true identity.
Confronting Reality[]
Manifesting in her original form, Levia ascended the stairs of the illusory Leviantan temple before her and found at the top Elluka, Gumillia, Behemo, and Adam in their original forms before the ark Sin. Unable to deny her true identity any longer, Levia lowered her head in silence while Elluka directed Gumillia to her. After confirming to Gumillia that she had regained all of her memories, Levia moved towards the Sin and learned from Elluka how they were only in her own inner psychological world due to the device built by Seth.
After musing on this, Levia questioned Elluka and learned how the mage had figured out she wasn't the real Irina, owing it to several factors over the years. She and Elluka fell to discussing how Held had known her true identity immediately and sought to keep her from finding out; realizing Gumillia had been made her "apprentice" to monitor her, Levia confirmed this with Gumillia herself and learned how her true purpose was to help seal Levia and Behemo away again.
After comforting Gumillia, who burst into tears admitting the truth, Levia questioned her further and learned the trick Held undertook to prevent Gumillia and Kyle from losing their memories with their reincarnation. Levia then returned to Elluka, who brought up more reasons why it would have been impossible for Levia to have been the real Irina, including knowing the Swap Technique, and finally admitted that Seth had told her after he became the Demon of Wrath. Levia then watched as Elluka revealed how she had experimented with Adam inside the Clockworker's Doll, giving Adam the ability to summon them all to the Court.
After they were all summoned to the "Court", a realm of judgment that equalized everyone and made it possible to kill gods, Elluka challenged Levia and Behemo to continue their duel. Levia soon after had to, embarrassed, introduce the crossdressing Behemo to Gumillia. When Elluka eventually prepared to resume the fighting, the five of them were interrupted by the Demon of Gluttony. The duel then began; as Elluka, Levia, and the demon's magic all clashed, the resulting blast caused Behemo, Elluka, and Adam's souls to fuse together into one.
Meeting in Hell[]
After the blast, Levia ended up in the Hellish Yard. Not knowing the route to the ground world from there, she traveled to the gates to the Heavenly Yard and found Seth in his original form as a mask nearby. she then began stomping on the demon until Gumillia approached her; greeting her, Levia explained how the blast had apparently brought them there. After reintroducing Seth to the puzzled Gumillia, he further speculated that the Demon of Gluttony seemed to have opened a hole when she entered the mental world. In response to Gumillia's questions, Levia admitted she didn't know where Behemo, Adam or the Demon of Gluttony were.
she furthermore explained that she didn't know the way to the ground world and suggested visiting heaven to talk to Held; when Seth requested to be left behind, not wanting to go to heaven and no longer interested in the ground world, levia obediently tossed him back to hell. After she passed through the doors, she noticed Gumillia hadn't followed him and learned she couldn't pass through, being a still-living mortal. As Gumillia questioned him again for options, Levia revealed that only the Master of the Hellish Yard would know how to get back to the ground world and that the Master was Behemo.
When Gumillia stated her resolve to wait for Behemo to come get her, Levia expressed his amusement at the idea before explaining it could actually happen if Behemo succeeded in destroying the world, making it possible for Gumillia to leave and Behemo to come to hell freely. When asked, she clarified that she herself no longer had the motivation to destroy the Third Period. After a while, Levia revealed to Gumillia that there was a soul-eating miasma that permeated hell. Then she made her farewells and went to the Heavenly Yard.
Return to Heaven[]
Once she arrived in the Heavenly Yard, Levia was surprised to find the moon's landscape transformed, the former site of the research facility covered in rice fields. After determining it was the doing of TALOS, who had become the sun god of the world, Levia brushed it off and decided to find the Akashic Recorder in TALOS's Black Box to check on the progress of the Third Period. After finding the device, Levia was exasperated to find it locked. With TALOS gone from heaven, Levia changed the channel on his artificial eye to examine the inner workings of the box. Levia was surprised to spot a human soul inside the box.
Using a microphone mechanism, she talked with the soul and learned that she had been trapped in the box for unknown reasons by "Sickle." Introducing herself as "Sickle's" former colleague, Levia tried to persuade the suspicious human to let her help them get out of the box; asking for her name, she eventually learned the girl was Rinne Avadonia. After instructing Rinne on how to get out of the box and seeing the girl on his way to the Gardens of Champs-Élysées, Levia entered it himself. Finding the Akashic Recorder, Levia received all the information regarding the Third Period's history up until that point.
Reviewing the ground world's history, Levia learned more about Rinne and her role as one of the "keys" to the world's creation, as well as how Behemo, Elluka, and Adam had fused into Ma and how several of her old colleagues had reincarnated as Demons of Sin. He also learned how several of the ghoul children that Seth created were frozen at the underground Freezis facility beneath Castle Hedgehog in Marlon, one of them having escaped and mixed with humans. Once she'd finished, Levia mused on all the information that she had learned. Peeved by the information on Seth in particular, she decided to eliminate the rest of the ghoul children on the ground world.
Using the black box, she sent a message to the Zorach Family guarding the Freezis facility to terminate the devices and the children in them. After her orders were carried out by one of the family's members, Levia exited the black box and found Held awaiting him with Rinne. As Held chastised him for her current behavior, Levia brushed him off and dismissed Held in turn for his loyalty to Sickle . Before Rinne was returned to the black box, she chatted with her over her failure to meet with Alexiel at the Gardens of Champs-Élysées. After suggesting that Rinne would reincarnate in the east in two hundred years, Levia said her farewells and left.
Eastern Maid[]
In EC 828, Levia had Rinne reincarnate in Jakoku to meet with Rinne as planned. When the enraged Sickle ordered her to retrieve Rinne, Levia arrived in Jakoku and decided to instead masquerade as a human woman until Rinne potentially failed to find Alexiel.
Taking up the identity of "Bufuko Tsukimoto", Levia became a servant to the Octo Family, serving the samurai Anan Octo. Following the great fire that struck Enbizaka in EC 838, Bufuko was assigned to care for the severely burned Gakuga Sudou after he was taken in by Magistrate Gato Octo. Over the years, Bufuko fed and nursed the helpless tailor back to health, Gakuga repeatedly mistaking her for his dead daughter, Rin.
In EC 842, Enbizaka's local doctor made a house call to Gakuga and Bufuko learned that Gakuga had made a miraculous recovery. Bufuko chatted with the doctor about her own medical experience before going to prepare dinner for Gakuga and the doctor. After she returned and fed them, she watched as Anan entered and interrogated Gakuga yet again over the location of his family's blades. After she'd argued with Anan over his pointless interrogation, Bufuko further argued with Anan when he announced Gakuga was being evicted from the Octo residence, insisting that the tailor's mind hadn't yet recovered.
Anan further explained that he was now aiding the Freezis Foundation and that Bufuko would return to serving him; after bemoaning the situation, and then requesting Gakuga tailor him a outfit, Bufuko said her goodbyes and traveled to Enbizaka with Anan to work at the trade house. Later that year, Gakuga visited Bufuko and gave him his requested outfit, to Bufuko's amazement . During her work, Bufuko found Grim the End by chance in the luggage of a Freezis trading ship. Later on, when a new employee at the trade house named Inukichi became infatuated with Bufuko, she continually ignored the man, only to eventually agree to a date from his persistence.
When the Rangu Clan member Saruteito approached the trade house and started repeatedly calling out, Bufuko rushed out and learned she wanted to speak with Anan Octo. Although she lacked an appointment, she nonetheless alerted her master and Saruteito was able to have her meeting. When Gakuga was captured for his murders and the magistrate continually failed to execute him due to his envy magic, Bufuko stole his confiscated scissors. With the scissors and Grim the End, Bufuko approached Kokutan-douji and took her to speak privately in Gakuga's tailor shop, planning to put an end to her charade.
The Tale of Enbizaka[]
After giving Gakuga's scissors to the girl, Bufuko watched as Kokutan refused to keep them and she noted that the girl's memories of her previous life hadn't returned thanks to Rahab's influence. Using Grim the End, Bufuko returned Kokutan's memories and revealed her true identity to her as the god, Levia. she explained how she had been sent to fetch her by Sickle. He also explained how Gakuga had committed his murders to get revenge on Mei Miroku due to learning that Mei was responsible for the Enbizaka fire, this being in defiance of how the events were supposed to unfold.
Hearing Kokutan's wish to save Gakuga from his deathless fate before her departed, Levia gifted her Grim the End and suggested she shape-shift it into a sword to execute Gakuga with. Warning him to be careful, as the key no longer had a demon inside it, Levia sent the girl on her way. Then, as she prepared to ascend back to the Heavenly Yard, Levia approached the reef where Rahab was having a confrontation with Ma. Ignoring Ma entirely, he found Kayo Octo's disembodied spirit and offered to give her a lift to the Heavenly Yard.
As they flew back to Onigashima, Levia chatted with Kayo about what happened to Grim the End, her deception on the ground world, and in particular Gakuga's fate. They then arrived at Enbizaka's execution grounds to meet with Kokutan-douji; Kokutan then said farewell to her friends with a cover story that "Bufuko" planned to take her to see her real parents. Finally, Levia ascended to the Heavenly Yard with Kokutan and Kayo in tow.
World's End[]
When Nyoze Sudou destroyed the Third Period in EC 999, Levia disappeared from the Heavenly Yard, ending up in the Grave Yard. Using her artificial eye to see a great distance, she watched from afar as Rinne reunited with Alexiel at Evil's Theater, musing that the "climax" was close at hand and that Ma had outwitted all of them. Following Rinne and Nyoze' defeat of Ma, Levia teleported to within the Climb One, revealing herself as the true Master of the Heavenly Yard. She then explained to Rinne the nature of the First Period as well as how the earthlings from the Second Period were online avatars brought into the real world. After Rinne and Alexiel enacted a Re_birthday to create a new world, Levia became one of the members of the "Evillious" SNS group chat, commenting on the state of the new world.
Personality and Traits[]
Being both eccentric and serious, both dedicated and yet slow to accept harsh truths, Levia was a contradictory woman. Growing up in the First Period, Levia was extremely precocious and studious, going to college at the age of six, and was relatively motivated as a psychiatrist. As part of this, she was diligent in asking people questions when speaking with them. Similarly, she conducted herself in a serious and businesslike manner, embarrassed by the members of her family that didn't observe propriety, and put her energies into seeing her projects to the end. Particularly as the end of the Second Period approached, she was also always on guard to protect herself.
Despite this serious attitude and detail to her work, Levia herself was lackadaisical and considered a bit of an eccentric, described as "hysterical" by at least one of her coworkers. Accompanying this, she had a tendency to ignore or deny reality when it became too difficult to bear, preferring to flee or construct comforting lies rather than face her problems head-on. This trait in particular was carried over, in one way or another, to all of her other identities as Irina and Ma. Despite not being Ma, she leave a lingering effects on the previous body even after being blasted out of the body itself.
Immediately following the initial destruction of the Climb One,' Levias HER corrupted her spirit data. In combination with the disastrous events that led to the Climb One's crashing, this resulted in her assisting Behemo in attempting to destroy humanity and start over from scratch. Although considerably calmed down after her re-awakening, she acted on her own agenda behind Sickle's back, choosing to toy with humanity directly while keeping her true intentions to herself.
As the only one to know the truth about the First and Second Periods, Levia had humanity's best interests at heart. This was demonstrated by her initial efforts to bring her colleagues in the Second Period simulation into the real world, as well as by her reluctance to harm humanity once it had developed following his reawakening. Her desire to have the ghoul children under Castle Hedgehog killed, as well, was presumably as much to prevent their potential to spread HER as it was a matter of offense over having her work plagiarized. She continued to be helpful to those like Gakuga and Rinne, and ultimately desired to facilitate the reformation of humanity as the Master of the Heavenly Yard.
Skills and Abilities[]
Levia was knowledgeable in the creation and study of the mind, being a trained psychiatrist and child prodigy. She also, in the Second Period, had some skill with firearms. After becoming a god, Levia was an ageless immortal and automatically reincarnated after death. Despite this, she was still subject to the rules of the Third Period set by Sickle; regardless, she was free to move between worlds without any hazard. Following her incarnation as Irina Clockworker, Levia possessed the memories and knowledge of Irina Clockworker. Having received an artificial eye implant, Levia could adjust her sight via switching the channel settings at the command of her brain, allowing her see great distances, as well as through solid surfaces or pitch darkness at will.
Levia also possessed great magical power, becoming an expert with the reincarnation arts. She could also use the powerful Body Swap Technique, allowing her to move or transfer her or another soul into another body or object She could also communicate with a select few humans while sealed inside Sin; Levia could also change her voice to impersonate another person. Aside from this, Levia possessed general knowledge about the workings of Second Period technology and was able to operate it, being one of the few capable of working a Black Box's Mind Swap Technique, while also able to make her own additions to the Black Box.
Character Connections[]
Behemo Barisol: Levia's digital counterpart . Conceptualizing him as her way to study more o fthe human mind, she was later shocked as he made contact with her world, eventually joining him as an avatar herself. although coming to dislike Behemo over time. She was thus opposed to his embarrassing crossdressing habits, preferring not to spend time with him. Despite this, she was willing to work with her "brother" over the course of her rebellion against Sickle, but continued to consider him an embarrassment after they were both freed from Irina
Luna Hazuki: A fellow earthling. Although originally fine with working with Hazuki as a colleague, Levia became resentful of her philosophy to let the humans work things out for themselves and caused chaos in the Third Period because of this.
Held Yggdra: A fellow earthling. Levia worked with Held reasonably well, although as her employer she was often exhausted by his strictness. Despite her resentment over Held's alliance with Hazuki and her attempts to kill him that followed them, Levia's memories of her friendship with Held were strong enough that she even recalled them as Irina, although still irritated with his behavior at times.
Irina Clockworker: A woman Levia impersonated. Levia had no compunction with pretending to be Irina in order to gain her freedom. Following her incarnation into Irina's body, Levia believed she was her and clung strongly to her new identity, in denial of the truth for months after learning it.
Kyla Arklow: An acquaintance of Levia's. After moving to Russia, Kyla became one of her assistants.
Gumillia: An acquaintance of Levia's. Initially knowing her as one of her assistants, Levia got much closer to Gumillia over her time as "Irana Clockworker" and considered her a dear friend. As a result, even after gaining her memories back Levia didn't hold anything against the girl for her true role in their relationship, understanding how hard it was for Gumillia.
Gakuga Sudou: A man Levia met as Bufuko. Levia came to care about Gakuga to some extent while nursing him back to health, and commented later that she found him to be an interesting person.
Anan Octo: Behemo's master as Bufuko. Behemo served Anan dutifully as her maid, although wasn't above quarreling with her master when she disagreed with her decisions.
Trivia[]
- I have some problem deciding if it's better to made Levia and Behemo completely swap or not and decide to made it Levia and Behemo swap places halfway of the story
- Despite disliking her position of a maid, she manage to work well because she copy anything she remember Behemo did.
