Sateriasis Octo was a tailor from Mystica, Asmodean in the Beelzenian Empire and one of Duchess Lukana Venomania's many victims. While returning from the Lasaland New Year Festival, he was caught and enchanted by the Duchess, becoming the first member of her harem.
History[]
Early Life[]
Sateriasis was born in EC 116 in Mystica, Asmodean, as the son of a tailor and her husband. Growing up, he met and became close friends with Lilien Turner and Rajih Assad during his childhood, often playing with them. When he was ten years old, he dreamt that the town would suffer a severe drought and told everyone in the town about it the next day, as well as Elluka Clockworker.
Although no one in town believed the boy's premonition, Elluka claimed to believe the story and left immediately after. The town soon suffered months without rainfall; as everyone prepared for death, Elluka conjured a rainstorm that saved the town and Sateriasis became the talk of Asmodean for a time.
As he grew older, Sateriasis took up the family business as a tailor, taking his goods to his uncle's shop in Lasaland; occasionally, he would see Duke Ilotte Venomania's daughter, Lukana, while there. In EC 135, Sateriasis and Rajih went shopping through town and he bought a bracelet for his friend that matched his own.
Meeting the Duchess[]
In late EC 135, Sateriasis's uncle ordered a large shipment of Sateriasis's clothes to be sent to his shop for the New Year Festival and Sateriasis traveled to Lasaland to deliver the clothes personally, staying for a few days to enjoy the festival. While there, he heard rumors that Lukana, the new duchess, had gone mad since her family and staff were slaughtered; one evening, he saw Duchess Lukana collapse in the street and had her carried into the shop.
As he tended her, the Duchess awoke and Sateriasis explained what had happened; seeing Lukana was hungry, he fetched her food from the kitchen and spoke with her about her behavior, pitying her for the loss of her family. The two introduced each other and were interrupted by Sateriasis's uncle, who suggested Sateriasis escort her back to her estate and offered Lukana one of his tailored outfits. As Lukana went to go change, Sateriasis learned from his uncle that the rumors of her madness were untrue and that she had only lost some of her memories from the trauma of the massacre.
Sateriasis then escorted Venomania back to her mansion; upon arrival, he was startled by the duchess's brief, seemingly terrifying expression as she stood next to him and learned she was living alone without any servants due to her memory loss. As they talked, he also learned that she had gone out into the streets because she had run out of food and was looking for a Netsuma and an Elphe. He mentioned that her mother was also an Elphe and that her uncle, Marquis Claster Glassred, was handling Asmodean's affairs.
Sateriasis shortly after learned that Lukana and the Marquis had gotten into a fight over her living alone and hadn't seen each other since. Apologizing for his nosy behavior, when Sateriasis heard the duchess mention that she had bought new clothes and interjected that she should have all new clothes tailored for her. Lukana suddenly offered the job to him and Sateriasis bashfully accepted.
Abduction[]
Setting up a workshop in the mansion, Sateriasis worked late into the night over the course of two weeks, doing chores around the mansion as well. One night he fell asleep dreamed of the Duchess as a monster, seducing and defiling him and other men. Waking to find Venomania watching him, he became hysterical and apologized once he calmed down. He then packed up and and returned to his uncle's home for the day, concerned by his dream that Venomania might have sold her soul.
On his way back, Sateriasis passed through a forest to the next village when Lukana descended upon his with a pair of wings. Terrified, Sateriasis then continually resisted as the demonic duchess insisted she would marry him and lamented how things could have been different under different circumstances. As Venomania enchanted him with her gaze, Sateriasis was just able to voice a warning to her that there was one man who was her true love and that the loss of this love and her destruction awaited her on this path. He then gave in to the spell and kissed Venomania in sight of a shocked bystander, later accompanying her back to the mansion.
As the first man to join her harem, Sateriasis lived with her in the mansion and remained hidden in his basement to keep his harem a secret. During the following week, he and Lukana had intense sexual intercourse every night and the tailor slept through each morning; after one of their sexual encounters, Sateriasis learned the duchess was seeking her diary to help her remember her past. During the period, he continued cleaning the basement and making their meals in the basement kitchen.
That early February, Sateriasis took care of I.R.'s "human body" while the mage went on a trip with the Duchess to the village of Abito, I.R. collecting the body after bringing Mike Greeonio to the mansion as another member of the duke's harem. Later that night, Sateriasis joined the other gentleman in the basement to watch Lukana attempt a magical ritual to wipe the memories of all the witnesses to ever meeting the two men, perfectly performing his part in the ritual. He then tended to the exhausted Lukana and watched her leave the room with Mike.
Venomania Event[]
After Mike moved into the basement with him, the two began cleaning up the dreary place over time, and Sateriasis continually corrected Mike to call Lukana formally by her full name as he referred to her as his "princess." Later on, he made himself and Mike more sexually pleasing outfits to wear on Lukana' request and finished them around March. Around that time, he found a key to the caged room in the basement's innermost chamber and discovered several books he confirmed were diary volumes inside.
Recalling Venomania's earlier plight finding her diary, Sateriasis put the books on a table as he began cooking, intending to hand them over to Lukana; in the middle of cooking, Lukana entered and introduced him to the new harem member, Leo Adam, and Sateriasis gave her the diaries. After exchanging a few words with him, Lukana thanked him and left with Leo. As men continued to join Venomania's harem, Sateriasis tailored new provocative outfits for each of them to wear for their beloved.
When Mistie Adi joined, Sateriasis learned the fortune teller had apparently been Elluka Clockworker's apprentice; he also noticed Cherubim Glassred's antagonistic behavior towards Mike after he and Caffara Shields joined in March. He also noticed Duchess Venomania going out more, governing the province in place of Marquis Glassred. During this period, Sateriasis gave Lukana his bracelet. A few days after Cherubim joined the harem, Sateriasis dreamt of Lukana being stabbed; when he went to discuss her dream with Mistie, Sateriasis learned the man was a fraud and considered what to do about it on his own.
Later, Sateriasis went to speak with Cherubim over his antagonism with Mike and met with Cherubim while he was playing the violin. While meeting with him, Sateriasis learned of Cherubim's painting hobby and noted his portrait of Lyra hanging on the wall. Later that day, Sateriasis gave the newest harem member, Haru Netsuma, a tour of the basement while Lukana spoke with I.R.
Sateriasis then reported his success to Venomania, only to watch her and I.R. argue over the decision. Shortly afterwards, concerned about Cherubim apparently having left the basement, Sateriasis hesitantly reported what he learned to Venomania. As Lukana proceeded to burn the portrait in the basement's fireplace, Sateriasis silently watched along with Cherubim and her co-conspirator, Caffara Shields.
Later on, Sateriasis had tea with the other harem boys while Lukana entertained the Marlon royal couple in her mansion. As Mike conversed with I.R., who was in her cat form, Sateriasis asked if she should call Haru over; Mike relayed I.R.'s message to leave her.
In April of EC 136, when Lukana left for Mystica, Sateriasis was entrusted with the mansion in her absence while I.R. entrusted his body with Mikulia. Sometime later, Sateriasis discussed the rain in Lasaland with Cherubim, as well as expressing envy for Cherubim being able to call the duchess by the nickname "Luna" in conversation; he then remarked that, unlike Lasaland, Mystica was always sunny. Later that day, he found Mike dressing up I.R.'s vacant body and lectured him on treating the body like a toy, warning him to stop.
The two then went to discussing Venomania, who had picked Mike as one of her favorites, and Mike expressed him liking for her and Sateriasis. Once he expressed his dislike for Cherubim, Sateriasis encouraged him to try getting along better with him for Lukana' sake, despite their differences in upbringing and personality.
After Venomania and I.R. returned from their journey, Sateriasis continued to please the Duchess's whims, happy to be reunited with his childhood friend Rajih. Due to the duchess having knowledge of his Pink Dream ability, he was asked to keep an eye on I.R. with his unique power. Sateriasis continued to manage the relationships between the other men when he discovered the corpse of Leo Adam one morning; noting Venomania's apparent apathy over his death, as well as his prior reunion with Rajih, Sateriasis's brainwashing gradually weakened.
Around this time, Lukana became pregnant and give birth with the Sateriasis's child. I.R. later took Sateriasis's body as a medium and broke into the mansion's storage when she attempted to leave. After being confronted by Lukana, the sorceress relinquished possession of the tailor's body and departed. When the disguised Yufina Castella successfully stabbed the Duchess later that year, Sateriasis broke free of her spell and fled the mansion with his daughter and the others.
Later life[]
Soon after fleeing, Sateriasis and Rajih reunited with Lilien. The three decided to start a new life, eventually settling in the East. Sateriasis later encountered I.R. seeking his body as a medium and continuously fled to escape her.
In EC 138, Sateriasis met with Elluka Clockworker while the mage was investigating the Venomania Event, detailing to her what he knew about the incident and his current plight with I.R. Elluka then offered to swap his bodies with someone, depriving I.R. of what he wanted, and Sateriasis agreed to the swap. With his new body, the man reconnected with his confused daughter and continued to raise the baby, free of I.R. Sateriasis later died around EC 159.
Afterlife[]
Following his death, Sateriasis's soul was sent to the Heavenly Yard and remained there. In EC 999, he and the other souls were pulled back to the Third Period as the ground world merged with the Hellish Yard. Afterward, the boy returned to Duke Venomania's mansion in Lasaland and agreed to rejoin Lukana' harem along with Mike, Cherubim, and Kio. Some time after, the Master of the Hellish Yard visited and took Venomania back to the bowels of the Hellish Yard. When all the souls of the Third Period started singing the Clockwork Lullaby to restrain Ma, Sateriasis eventually joined in their singing.
Legacy[]
Sateriasis and the Duchess's resulting bloodline lasted for centuries, surviving into the late EC 900s with Nemesis and Luka Octo. Luka desired to rid herself of the "curse" inherited from Venomania and Sateriasis. Fa also shared Sateriasis's history with Duchess Venomania and Elluka Clockworker to her descendant, Gakuga Sudou, musing the Sudous becoming tailors may have been the fate of his bloodline.
Personality and Traits[]
Sateriasis was responsible, reliable, and kind. Concerned about the well-being of others, he tried to be friendly with everyone and helped others when they were in need, even if he himself was scared of them. Because of this, Sateriasis was extremely helpful to Venomania before and after he joined her harem; this extended to his acting as a mediator in a dispute, such as trying to improve relations between the other concubines to make things easier for her. Because of this altriusm, Sateriasis's brainwashing in part weakened when seeing Venomania's apathy towards the safety of the other men. He similarly was very respectful, believing there to be a line between aristocrats and commoners and that nobles should be addressed in a formal manner, regardless of relationship.
Sateriasis also cared deeply for his family and friends, particularly close with Lilien and Rajih despite their differences in background and character; his relationship with the more masculine Rajih convinced Lukana that people with opposite personalities could nonetheless become close friends. Although his brainwashing did affect this, such as Sateriasis giving his bracelet to the duchess, it also allowed his to resist the brainwashing when Rajih joined the harem.
Upon actually meeting Lukana, Sateriasis had become infatuated with her and was thus heartbroken as well as horrified after foreseeing the depravities she would do to him. Once brainwashed, Sateriasis was completely enamored with Venomania and was dedicated to pleasing her every whim, even questioning his earlier horror towards her and unable to disobey her will. He would thus become jealous of her more intimate lovers, though never mistreating them because of it. Although repulsed and regret by what him did to Lukana after breaking free, Sateriasis still cared for the child he sired with her and, following the end of the world, willingly returned to her harem, supposedly out of a genuine love for her.
Skills and Abilities[]
Working at his family's tailor shop, Sateriasis learned how to become a skilled dressmaker and eventually began managing the store. Skilled with sewing, the tailor was able to make seemingly aristocratic designs with rather simple fabric, making his clothes extremely popular. He was also knowledgeable of fashion trends from various nations outside Asmodean. The tailor was an excellent cook as well and could prepare a variety of delicious meals. He was also a capable mediator, managing the relationships between the various men in Venomania's ever-growing harem.
Character Connections[]
Lukana Venomania: Sateriasis's abductor. Sateriasis pitied Lukana for the loss of her family, helping her as a seamstress and developing a crush on the duchess over time. After foreseeing her defiling of him, he feared this possibility and attempted to leave, only to fall in love with Lukana under the power of Lust. This spell began to fade in part, however, by observing her callous attitude towards Leo's death, and he was later horrified by his loss of innocence at her hands.
Rajih Assad: A friend of Sateriasis. Sateriasis valued their friendship highly despite the many differences between them; this friendship inspired him to believe people as different as Cherubim and Mike could get along in Venomania's harem. Reuniting with Rajih in part helped him to overcome his brainwashing at the duchess's hands, and he later traveled with him, his daughter, and Lilien after being freed.
Lilien Turner: A friend of Sateriasis. He valued his friendship highly and played with her often as a child, although unable to be with her as often in adulthood. After being freed from Venomania's harem, he and his daughter joined Rajih and Lilien to travel the world.
Mike Greeonio: A fellow member of Venomania's harem. Sateriasis acted like a voice of reason for his as temporary master of the house, getting his to stop painting Hikaru's body and attempting to help him get along with Cherubim. He appreciated Mike's friendship, though expressed mild jealousy that he was one of the duchess "favorites".
Cherubim Glassred :A fellow member of Venomania's harem. Sateriasis was mildly jealous that Cherubim was able to call Lukana by the nickname "Luna" but bore him no ill will, wishing to get along with him for the sake of the duchess.
Elluka Clockwoker: A sorceress Sateriasis met. Sateriasis ran into Elluka after the Venomania Event, when the boy was horrified over his loss of innocence, and Elluka swapped his bodies with someone who have purple hair.
