The Witch and the Flower of Happiness is a song released by Akuno-P on August 18, 2024 in The Restaurant of Many Ingredients album. It focuses on the titular flowers, the witch who created them, and how they caused turmoil in the World of Curses and Blessings.

Plot[]

In a certain country, the royal princess ordered a witch to be burned at the stake. In her last moments, the witch simply said: "My flowers will kill you." Soon after this, vibrant red flowers began to grow across the country, creating a feeling of indescribable euphoria in those who smelled them. The flowers became commonplace as they were spread across the country; however, a long winter suddenly arrive, causing most of the flowers to wither away.

The people of the country began to despair, falling into conflict over the few remaining flowers. During this time, the princess recalled the witch's final words. Fearing the flowers' continued existence, she ordered that they all be burnt away. However, enraged at this decision, a steel knight began to stir up a revolt. The royal palace was surrounded and all princess' retainers were killed, but no one knew where the princess had fled.

While the country fell to ruin, a singular large flower grew upon a plateau. When it fully bloomed and opened its petals, the black witch was revealed to be inside. Lying before the flower was the princess, lost in an eternal sleep.

Lyrics[]

The princess of a certain country
Had an innocent witch burned at the stake
In her final moments, the witch told them:
"My flowers will kill you"

Eventually they were visited by the coming spring
The season of budding plants
Pretty flowers bloomed
Flowers that no one had ever seen before

They had gorgeously vibrant petals
And a fragrance like wine
The moment you approached one, you could feel
An indescribable euphoria

The people loved these flowers
They spread them across the country
With no suspicions at all

The flower of happiness blooms
We'll make everyone happy
Grow more and more of that flower
Create a happy end

The great land was so filled with those flowers
That they became commonplace
Then they were suddenly visited by a long winter
And the flowers of happiness began to wither

When they had lost
The flowers that granted them happiness
The people became
Increasingly more despairing than they had been before

Battles broke out
Around the few flowers they had left
Driven to turmoil, the princess
Recalled the witch's words

The princess ordered all of the flowers
To be burned
Enraged, a steel knight
Stirred up a revolt

The palace was surrounded
They killed the retainers
No one knowing of the princess' whereabouts

The flower of happiness blooms
After the whole country fell to ruin
Atop their wilted remains,
Spring was upon them once more

An incredibly huge flower
Sat in a splendid full bloom upon the plateau
Its fruit broke open, and born from within
Was the black witch who was supposed to be dead

Someone once said that
A flower absolutely must be pure
At the roots of this enormous flower
Lay the princess in an eternal sleep
