Scherzer was one of the world's leading celebrities in the Union State of Evillious. Growing obsessed with the suffering of women, he became involved in the local slave trade, abducting countless young women for his personal pleasure. After being caught assaulting a woman, the man bribed Gallerian Marlon to acquit him of all charges.

History

Early Life

Born sometime during the tenth century EC, Scherzer developed sadistic urges towards women. He eventually became a huge celebrity around the world, living a life of luxury at his suburban mansion in Levianta; around that time, he hired Bogaerts to manage his immense fortune for him. After he learned about Duke Sateriasis Venomania and the infamous serial kidnapping incident he had caused centuries ago, he became inspired to start abducting women himself, imprisoning and tormenting them into losing hope before selling them to the local slave trade.^[1]

When arrested on charges of assaulting a woman, Scherzer appealed to the USE Dark Star Bureau Director, Gallerian Marlon, to have him acquitted in exchange for a bribe. As a result, he was proclaimed not guilty on the grounds of insufficient evidence on the day of the trial. In the aftermath, the man was kept busy for most of the day and that night snuck into Gallerian's office through the window.

After greeting Gallerian, Scherzer teasingly thanked him for being such a good judge and saving him during the trial, to Gallerian's chagrin. When he was warned to be more respectful with women, he said he'd keep it in mind before bidding Gallerian goodbye. Afterward, Scherzer continued his abductions and underworld dealings. When he eventually learned a whistleblowing was made spreading rumors of his actions, he had a media control imposed to limit public attention.

As the police raided Scherzer's home and discovered the missing women inside, he fled and became a fugitive. At night, he met with Gallerian again and begged him to save him again, reluctantly agreeing to pay ten times the previous amount in exchange. When Gallerian questioned his crime's motives, Scherzer shared his innermost sadistic desires to break women as well as gain more money. Faced with Gallerian's scorn for his desire for money, Scherzer pointed out he was no different in accepting bribes and Gallerian agreed.^[2]

Afterwards, Scherzer allowed himself to be taken in again and stood trial the next morning. Ignoring Bogaerts's testimony, confident he would be found innocent, Scherzer listened in shock as Gallerian proclaimed him guilty for all thirteen charges including kidnapping and confinement. Shocked, Scherzer became hysterical with rage and was gagged and restrained as he resisted arrest.

After being confined in a strait jacket and jail cell, Scherzer was visited by Gallerian later that day to explain the reasons for his betrayal. He listened as Gallerian confirmed he didn't have a personal vendetta against him, and that he had tried him guilty because Bogaerts paid him to using Scherzer's own fortune, Scherzer having unknowingly kidnapped his niece.

Gallerian also informed Scherzer that he and his subordinates would be executed the next day to protect Bogaerts, and Scherzer broke down, wildly screaming through his restraints. The next day, the criminal was executed as planned.^[3]

Scherzer was a sadistic man devoted wholly to his personal pleasures. Having long desired to watch women suffer until they finally lost hope, became unable to resist his desires took immense pleasure in imprisoning and tormenting women. In addition to this, he had an apparent admiration for Sateriasis Venomania, choosing to mimic the Duke of Lust's infamous kidnappings. He additionally believed that one could never have too much money, although not especially greedy.

As one of the world's leading celebrities, Scherzer's seeming invincibility made him arrogant and he often acted in a carefree and somewhat playful manner, unrepentant of his sleazy behavior. Despite this, he worked hard to keep his dark hobby a secret from the public and maintain a foppish and elegant public image, as well as showing a certain politeness to others. He was even so prone to blind spots in his work, such as not carefully identifying all of his victims.^[4]

Scherzer had a certain charisma, becoming immensely popular on the world's stage and naturally drawing crowds of women to his elegant public appearance; due to his fame, the man possessed an immense fortune, giving him the resources to have or do anything he desired. However, because he handled the administration of his finances to a subordinate, his affluence was dependent on the underling's efficiency and cooperation. He also demonstrated some acrobatic ability, able to slip in and out of a room through a window with ease.^[5]

Character Connections

Bogaerts: Scherzer's financial adviser. Scherzer trusted Bogaerts to handle his financial affairs and, confident in his ability to buy his way out of prison, paid no mind to Bogaerts' potential as a witness to his crimes and didn't concern himself with the possibility of earning his ire. Due to this inattention, he carelessly kidnapped the man's own niece, unaware of this at the time.

Gallerian Marlon: Scherzer's savior. Grateful to Gallerian for getting him out of prison initially, Scherzer was confident in the judge's ability to bend the law to his needs and felt comfortable speaking to him informally. He even became conceited about getting Gallerian's aid, believing they were both the same in doing anything for money; because of this overconfidence, Scherzer was enraged by the judge's betrayal and unable to control himself.
