The Moonlit Family[note 1] was the royal lineage that ruled the Magic Kingdom Levianta. Following the failure of the first Project 'Ma', some its members fled to the Kingdom of Elphegort, becoming a family of woodcutters.

HistoryEdit

Early HistoryEdit

At some point, Maria Moonlit became queen of the Magic Kingdom Levianta and sired a child; insisting to have bore the infant as a virgin the senate took the child from her and dumped the babe in a river. In BT 022, Maria gave birth to a son, Adam.[1] Following her prophecy, Maria's son was made the first head of Project 'Ma'.[2] While directing the project, Adam entered a romantic relationship with the test subject, Eve Zvezda.[3] Following the death of Eve's twins, the two fled and married in Held's Forest in Elphegort.[4]

Dabbling with SinEdit

In EC 001, the couple adopted the infant Hänsel and Gretel after Eve murdered their mother.[5] They then cared for the children, raising them as their own. Following a famine in EC 014, they abandoned the twins in the forest before the teens returned and killed them later in the night.[5] Shortly after, the twins used Eve's soul in place of a demon for one of the vessels of sin;[6] at the same time, Adam's spirit ended up in another vessel with the Demon of Wrath.[7] The twins then released the vessels of sin into the world and left the following day.

In November of EC 609, Eve's soul was forced out of her vessel and into the spirit of Elluka Clockworker.[6] Following the Duel of Merrigod Plateau on January 30, EC 611, Eve's soul fused with the spirits of Levia and Irina Clockworker, creating Ma, while Adam's soul was blasted out of the vessel of Wrath.[8]

Hell on EarthEdit

After the destruction of the Third Period, all the dead members of the Moonlit family residing in the Heavenly Yard were dragged back down to the earth as the ground world merged with the Hellish Yard.[9]

  • In Project 'Ma', the moon and stars are said to disappear into the southern sky,[10] referencing Adam "Moonlit" and Eve "Zvezda" fleeing South to Elphegort.
