Lich Arklow was an underling of the Demon of Gluttony and a former forest spirit of Held. Chased out of the forest, Lich began serving the new Demon of Gluttony and was incarnated as a death god. Becoming the manager of the Graveyard restaurant, Lich operated the establishment before it was shut down by Judge Gallerian Marlon.

History

Early Life

In BT 528, the god Held created Lich and the other forest spirits in Held's Forest from the spirits of the god kin who died in the creation of Third Period.[1] At some point, he befriended his fellow spirit Eater.[2] During the EC 470's, Lich came across the bodies of the Lucifenian Royal Family in his black rollam bird form, the family having died after their carriage fell from a cliff.[3] Thinking of a prank, he transferred the soul of the dead prince into a mud doll made in his likeness. Because this, he was banished from the forest by Held, with Eater following him.[4]

Death Gods

At some point, Lich and Eater encountered the new Demon of Gluttony Banica Conchita and became subservient to her, incarnated as death gods and learning that she was searching for the Grave Yard. Lich later established the Graveyard restaurant with Eater in USE Levianta during the EC 900s, working as its manager and storing his master's vessel within the establishment.

Over the years, the Graveyard restaurant continuously committed tax evasion. At some point, Lich employed a waitress at the restaurant. After one of the customers revealed himself to be Dark Star Bureau Director Gallerian Marlon and had the restaurant shut down, Lich managed to avoid arrest.

Later on during winter, Lich and Eater broke into the house of Gallerian in order to retrieve Banica and her vessel. Breaking up the initial skirmish between the judge's butler and Eater, Lich introduced himself before asking Gallerian to return the Glass to them and release the restaurant's waitron. Chided for breaking up his house and manhandling his servant, Lich retorted he did the same thing when he has the Graveyard shut down.

Taking the glass, Lich was then sucked inside its world. Told by Banica to serve Gallerian, Lich was brought back to the outside world and, displeased, bemoaned Banica's whimsy. Declaring that the glass was now owned by Gallerian and that he and Eater were his servants, Lich explained that there were two conditions, that Gallerian keep Ma from getting near the glass and that he search for the Grave Yard.

Yelled at by Gallerian for the zombies infesting the USE, Lich denied they were connected to them. Asked if they were really corpse soldiers, Lich confirmed the fact before correcting himself, stating that "death gods" would be more appropriate.[5] After the completion of Evil's Theater months later, Lich transferred there to continue guarding the glass.

Seeing Ma exit the cinema and head for the director's office, Lich glared at her before being assured that she wouldn't go near the glass. Discussing his return to the forest in his current form, Ma suggested he visit his former acquaintances including his younger brother. In response, Lich rejected the idea, stating it would lead him to get chased out of the forest and unable to protect his master.[6]

Personality and Traits

Lich was a devious and mischievous spirit. Despite the act of creating a mud doll being a taboo, Lich nonetheless pushed through with the action as a prank. The man was also loyal to Banica, treating her as his master and serving her whims, although sometimes complaining about them. Because of this loyalty, he detested Ma and worked to prevent her from nearing Banica's vessel. Lich also spoke in a polite manner and addressed certain individuals formally.

Skills and Abilities

As a forest spirit, Lich was immortal, able to heal from any wound almost instantly while in Held's Forest. Similarly, he could freely transform into an animal, usually a black rollam bird.[7] He was also capable at performing magic, able to create a mud doll in the likeness of a human and transfer their soul into it.[8] As a death god, Lich could pass as human, although giving off a cadaverous stench. He could also communicate with other corpse soldiers. Aside from this, Lich was a capable manager, able to effectively run the Graveyard restaurant for years without a business permit while committing tax evasion.[9]

Character Connections

Banica Conchita: Lich's master. Fiercely loyal to her, Lich carried out Banica's will, making efforts to protect her and her vessel. Despite this loyalty, he sometimes complained about her whimsical personality.

Eater Sabella: Lich's friend and fellow spirit. After being chased out of the forest, Lich was followed by Eater and the two began serving Banica together. After being incarnated as death gods, Lich continued to work closely with Eater during their operation of the Graveyard restaurant.

Gallerian Marlon: Lich's eventual superior. After he shut down the Graveyard restaurant, Lich broke into his home and used violent means to retrieve the Glass, although still maintaining his polite demeanor. After being ordered by Banica to serve him, Lich became Gallerian's subordinate as well, joining his police force.
