Gumina Glassred is an aristocrat of the Beelzenian Empire residing in Asmodean and one of Sateriasis Venomania's many victims. Before the Venomania Event, she had known him as her childhood friend, Cherubim, before being seduced into his harem.

History

Early Life

Born in EC 115, Gumina met and became close friends with her betrothed, Sateriasis Venomania. On October 16, EC 123, Gumina met with Sateriasis in a forest near Lasaland during the night. Meeting his deformed brother, the three played together as friends and often played together outside. They continued to remain close when the deformed boy was released from house arrest as a servant and given the name "Cherubim". Knowing his feelings for her, Gumina agreed to not speak about her marriage to Sateriasis in front of Cherubim.

As time went on, Gumina began to care deeply for the elder sibling and resent her betrothal to Sateriasis, attempting to destroy their arranged marriage. She later learned that her fiancé grew suspicious and was planning to assassinate Cherubim. Called by Cherubim, Gumina approached him and then noticed that Sateriasis was behind them, watching. To throw off his suspicion, she publicly mocked and scorned Cherubim's appearance before he could say anything, telling him that they shouldn't see each other again.

Venomania Event

In March, EC 136, the Marquis Glassred left the 21 year-old Gumina alone with her servant, Carol Shields. During this time the two were caught by Cherubim, who had stolen his brother's face and identity. Enchanted by his gaze, the two followed "Sateriasis" back to his mansion, living in the basement with the other concubines. In April, she was among the women he attended to, standing beside his throne, when I.R. arrived. As the he was about to leave with the sorceress, she grabbed his arm, looked into his eyes, and shared a passionate kiss with him before he departed.

Sometime after, Gumina noticed something bothering Lukana and asked her what was wrong. The concubine said she though she heard it raining outside and Gumina explained that it was characteristic of Lasaland, describing her childhood hatred for it. Lukana replied that it was unimportant now since their residence was what Venomania wished and Gumina, reminded of "Sati", dropped the subject. The pink-haired tailor then assured her that Mystica, where the Duke had gone, was always sunny. She later left the basement and played the violin in the dining room to drown out the rain. While reminiscing on her childhood habit, she questioned why she couldn't recall any memories of Sateriasis as a child, despite them being childhood friends.

After Sateriasis returned, they continued to be beside him to appease his desires. As time progressed, Gumina began painting portraits of her lover. Later on, Gumina watched as the Duke burned her paintings. Embraced by him as he passionately kissed her, she stared lovingly into his eyes. When Kachess Crim stabbed Venomania in EC 137, she broke free of his spell and began to flee the mansion with the others. The last to leave, she lingered behind for just a second longer to look upon the collapsed and dying Venomania before finally escaping.

Later Life

Soon after Venomania's death, Gumina began to face persecution from devout Levin followers for having been his mistress. Shortly afterward, she fled to Elphegort with her father and Carol, seeking asylum with relatives in the Green Country. Gumina later became Elphegort's first woman prime minister and an advocate for improving women's status. That same year, she became an active follower of Levin as part of the Held sect and often made pilgrimages to the Tree of Held. Two years since the incident, Gumina met with Elluka Clockworker, believing her to be Lukana Octo. During their conversation, she explained what had transpired between her, Cherubim, and Sateriasis. When asked if she attempted to destroy the engagement out of love for Cherubim, Gumina remained silent and made a lonely smile.

Legacy

Due to her success as Prime Minister, Gumina set a precedent for women in politics and the trend spread from Elphegort to its neighboring nations over the next few centuries. By the turn of the 6th century EC, word among the aristocracy was that it had been an era of women, with many females holding large positions of power. In EC 499, the forest spirit, Gumillia, chose to reincarnate as a human with Gumina's appearance, remembering the time the spirit witnessed her pray to Held at the Millennium Tree.

As a child, Gumina hated the rain and would often play the violin to drown out the sound of rainfall. Growing up, she was friendly and amiable to her betrothed and Cherubim, even calling Sateriasis "Sati" as a nickname. At some point, however, Gumina experienced resentment for her arranged marriage and acted against it; she also affected a scornful attitude towards Cherubim when the latter was threatened because of their close relationship. Gumina demonstrated a quarrelsome personality in her relationships with other women in the harem as well, her interactions with Lolan and Mikulia being described as "cat and dog".

Skills and Abilities

Gumina excelled in the political field, able to earn the position as prime minister for the Kingdom of Elphegort despite the social stigma she faced for her gender. She was also very skilled in playing the violin and painting.

Character Connections

Sateriasis Venomania: Gumina's childhood friend and cousin. Gumina cultivated a friendship with Sateriasis in childhood, although this regard for him ended during the course of their arranged marriage and his planned assassination of Cherubim. When enchanted by the power of Lust, she fell in love with "Sateriasis" and joined his harem, but after he was killed she came to her senses and fled, remembering their past conflicts.

Cherubim: Gumina's childhood friend. Gumina cultivated a friendship with Cherubim in her childhood and came to care deeply for him, to the point of cursing him publicly when the latter was to be assassinated by the jealous Sateriasis. Under the power of Lust, she became enchanted with him and joined his harem, believing him to be his brother; due to this, she coldly left Cherubim as he lay dying, hesitating only a moment to look upon "Sateriasis."

Lukana Octo: A fellow member of Venomania's harem. Gumina got along with Lukana to an extent during their time enchanted by the duke, confiding her hatred of rain to her as the duke left with Irina.

Mikulia Greeonio: A fellow member of Venomania's harem. Gumina and Mikulia had a difficult relationship while both were enchanted by the duke, due to their differing backgrounds.

Lolan Eve: A fellow member of Venomania's harem. Gumina and Lolan had a difficult relationship while both were enchanted by the duke. 

Carol Shields: A servant of Gumina. Gumina had a close relationship with Carol as master and servant, the latter usually accompanying the former and caring for her when the Marquis was away. Carol was very loyal to Gumina, to the point of prioritizing her will over Venomania's even under the duke's spell.

Conceptualization and Origin

• Gumina's surname is a kenning for a "red glass".
• Gumina's name is partially inspired by the name of her representative Vocaloid, GUMI, sharing the same letters.

Curiosities

• Despite being his childhood crush, it is unknown if Venomania gave Gumina an emerald necklace to indicate she was one of his "favorites".
