The Donald Family[note 1], also known as the Donald Clan[note 2] and later known as the Asmodean Imperial Family, was a family of nobles who belonged to the group known as the Five Dukes when serving the Beelzenian Empire, until they gained independence in Asmodean and installed themselves as Emperors.
History[]
Early History[]
In service to the Beelzenian Imperial Family, the Donalds were granted titles of nobility and had jurisdiction as marquises over the town Lisa-A. In EC 136 the Marquis Marcs Donald served the imperial family during the Venomania Event where he was tasked with keeping the Queen Yufina of Marlon safe, but ended up mutilated by Duke Sateriasis Venomania.[1] After the event ended with Venomania himself killed, the Donald family replaced the Venomanias as Dukes of Asmodean.[2]
Independence[]
Since being installed as Dukes, the Donald family repeatedly criticized Beelzenia's military as being weak and undisciplined, and continually requested that the imperial family broaden its military power towards unifying the mainland. Fed up with being ignored, in EC 212 the Duke of the time broke away from the empire and established Asmodean as an independent nation, crowning himself as the emperor.
Some generations later, Emperor Burglar Donald kept up the fight with Beelzenia at their borders.[2] In EC 325, the emperor declared war against Beelzenia, and had his armies invade the country.[3] The war would lead to the independence of the Kingdom of Lucifenia and the decline of the Beelzenian Empire.
In the late EC 400s, the Emperor at the time established meritocratic policies during their conflict with the expansionist Lucifenia. In EC 473, he took in a boy he found and appointed him as part of the country's Golden Dragon Military unit in recognition of the boy's swordsmanship, naming him Gast Venom. Five years later, the Emperor exiled Gast due to his alleged murder of General Shalgham.[4]
In April of EC 982, the contemporary Crown Prince visited the capital of Elphegort, Aceid. While there, he was murdered by a man of the Lucifenian Republic, Heleus Gone. The culprit was later put to trial in the Dark Star Bureau under judge Gallerian Marlon. Although the prosecutor sought his execution, Gallerian gave Heleus a reduced sentence in light of how wealthy Heleus' uncle Perse was, although publicly citing other reasons; this led to harsh criticism of the Dark Star Bureau by Asmodean and the Tasan Party.[5] This would become on of the contributing factors to the Leviantan Civil War.
Hell on Earth[]
After the destruction of the Third Period, all the dead members of the Donald family residing in the Heavenly Yard were dragged back down to the earth as the ground world merged with the Hellish Yard.[6]

- The family's name seems to be inspired by McDonald's, with Burglar and Marcs' names being puns on the brand.
