Banica Conchita, regarded as both Gourmet Noble Banica and Evil Food Eater Conchita, was a Duke of the Beelzenian Empire. Obsessed with food since an early age, the curious Banica made a contract with the Demon of Gluttony to taste all the foods in the world, leading her to eat the most grotesque foods imaginable. In pursuit of her obsession, she eventually devoured herself and the demon with her, becoming the new Demon of Gluttony.

History

Early Life

"Eat. There should be nothing left."

Banica was born in Gasto in the Beelzenian Empire in November, EC 296, the daughter of Muzuri and Meguru Conchita. Following her birth, she was attended to by her mother and several chamberlains. During the birthday celebration that night, Banica was held in her mother's arms as the household feasted on the baemu pig that was served. While Meguru joined in on the feast, Banica sat on her knees while Muzuri attempted to feed her some of the pig's heart. He was shot down shortly after by Meguru and the newborn Banica laughed as her mother spoke and cradled her again. Later during the celebration, she was taken with Meguru to bed.

As the years progressed, Banica learned that the household had contracted the Gula disease from eating the baemu, forcing them to continuously eat to avoid death. In EC 302, while eating with her family, the six year old said she didn't need to eat anymore and put down her utensils. Her mother then told her to eat, saying none of her food should remain. When Banica whined that she didn't like carrots and shook her head, Meguru became enraged and began violently stuffing the meal down the child's throat; still voicing her refusal, the child began to cry.

Over time, Banica continued to be "scolded" by her mother whenever she refused to eat. Eventually, the gloomy child grew docile out of fear of Meguru's abuse, eating everything she was given silently and always following her. In January of EC 306, a famine swept through the Conchita territory, leaving the household in low supply of food. In March, Banica followed her starving mother into another room.

When Meguru aggressively confronted Muzuri and tried to steal his sword to eat some of the dead servants, Banica quietly trembled in the corner. Seeing her parents struggle, the young girl watched as her father killed her mother with his sword. With Meguru's death, Banica fell into a depression and locked herself up in the basement's food storage. Lonely and uncomfortable in the room, she soon after met Arte and Pollo, her new servants. Before long, they became close friends, accompanying her everywhere.

Royal Engagement

In June of EC 311, she was betrothed to Carlos Marlon, the third prince of Marlon. A few months later, around February of EC 312, she traveled to Marlon with her servants and was introduced to Prince Carlos by her head chamberlain, Ron Grapple. During her stay, the two became acquainted with each other. Later on, Banica's disturbing eating habits terrified Carlos and prompted the Marlon Royal Family to dissolve the engagement. Returning home from her "failure", Banica immersed herself in food.

Pursuit of Delights

Because of the constant food shortages occurring throughout the Beelzenian Empire, Banica embarked on a journey abroad in January of EC 316 and traveled to numerous foreign countries, searching for the best crop-growing and food-preserving methods to solve Beelzenia's problem. Discovering many new cuisines in her studies, the Beelzenian aristocrat brought back these new foods and their recipes to the Empire, radically increasing the domestic foods in the country.

During Grabia's harvest festival held in August of EC 319, Banica arrived unannounced and participated in its tomato eating competition, winning by an overwhelming majority. Because of her contributions to the ailing Empire, the young noble became well regarded as "Gourmet Noble Banica". In August of EC 321, her father died of a heart attack, causing Banica to slip into another depression. Immediately afterwards, Conchita took increasing comfort in her dining hall and ate there more and more frequently.

Two months later, Empress Juno, having custody over the family's territories, appointed Banica as her father's successor and she took up his title as one of the Five Dukes. At some point, she began developing a new wine dubbed "Blood Grave" with the cooperation of the local farmers for a certain someone. Sometime later, she learned that person had died.

Tasting Temptation

In July of EC 323, Banica embarked on another journey, but swiftly returned after hearing that Ron had gone missing. The next day, Banica collapsed and was diagnosed with "visceral abnormalities" due to her self-abusive eating and confined to her bed. That evening, she reminisced fondly over the time she had spent eating when a voice rang in the room, asking what was left after taking away food from her. Physically unable to leave her bed, Banica managed to sit herself upright to see an apparition descend from the ceiling.

After it introduced itself, the noble asked how it knew of her and it replied that it was a demon. Calmly asking if it was taking her to the afterlife, it responded that she would die in six months due to her eating habits. Hearing this, Banica stated she was satisfied, believing she had tasted nearly all of the world's foods. When asked about this, she explained that she only regretted not having tasted the baemu of the Tasan territories; remembering Blood Grave, she admitted dying before its completion was difficult but that she was left uncertain since the person she was making it for had died.

The demon then revealed she had only tasted half of the world's food, ignorant of the world of the "ultimate" foods. Intrigued, Banica noted how she would die in six months regardless and the demon offered her a contract to avoid her death and be able to partake in that unknown world. The Duke remarked about the simplicity of the matter and, as the demon continued to goad her, promptly refused on account how her mother and the entire staff had previously been killed by a demon.

As the Demon argued that her father was her mother's actual murderer, Banica silenced it and demanded it leave her presence. The Demon complied but stated it'd leave something for her and Banica saw someone come into the now dark room and leave something by her bed. Told it was something she wanted, the Demon said that ingesting it would complete their contract and reasserted its first question to her before disappearing and she fell asleep.

Banica awoke the next day and noticed the filled wine glass by her bed. Recalling the previous night, the noble questioned the validity of the demon's words and grew curious of what was in the glass. Wondering if it was the still unfinished Blood Grave, she smelled its contents and recognized the scent of baemu blood in it. Consumed by her curiosity, the opsomaniac prepared to drink the fluid despite her protests.

With the glass at her lips, Banica hesitated, reflecting on how much she dedicated her life to food, accepting the truth of the demon's words. Having waned between life and death for three days, Banica engulfed the drink and forged a contract with the Demon of Gluttony. Through the Demon's power, Banica's figure slimmed and she made a full recovery. With her newfound abilities, the revitalized gourmand began tasting the foods she had yet to have tried.

Declining Obsession

At the mansion of Duke Oruhari, a banquet was held in November of that same year, celebrating her recovery. Banica, accompanied by her twin servants, arrived to participate at the banquet, surprising everyone with her new, thin body. During the festivities, she asked her servants to bring out her dessert, and they presented her with numerous live insects and spiders. Delighted, Banica ate them despite her audience's disgust with a calm yet noisy vigor.

By November of EC 324, Banica refused to meet with anyone on the grounds of her earlier illness, transferring the management and supervision of her territories to her two servants. After deserting herself from the outside world, Conchita became more and more attached to her dining hall. At some point, she used the glass to reanimate her family's former servants, having her undead army guard her mansion with Arte as their commander.

Starting in EC 325, Banica hired a number of cooks to serve her meals but, because they were disgusted with her appetite, became irritated with them soon after and had Arte and Pollo murder each chef, being served their corpses for her meals as punishment. After hiring and cannibalizing thirteen chefs, Banica hired her fourteenth cook, Ildebrando, but quickly became annoyed with his disgusted behavior too, ordering her servants to murder the useless cook.

In the middle of the night, Banica discovered the thief Platonic in her mansion, the red wine glass in hand. Amused to see a thief in her home, she took the glass from the terrified girl and noted that she was cute enough to eat. At that moment, a revived Ildebrando came from the stairs after the thief and, following a scuffle, Platonic escaped through the garden. With a smile, Banica expressed her disappointment that she escaped, telling her former cook that he annoyed her even in death. Grabbing his arms, she pinned him to the wall and he struggled, injuring her neck. As the bleeding stopped, Banica stated Ildebrando needed to be punished and opened her mouth. Questioning what he tasted like, the Duke devoured him.

Great Loves

"Didn't I tell you, once upon a time? That my dream was "to eat up everything in the world". I theeenn! Realized! That everything in the world was something I "can eat"! The pigs! The dogs! The birds! The ground! The residence! The town! The country! The continent! I can eat it all, all! So I— shall devour all of this world!"

Afterwards, Banica hired the famed Joseph as her cook. At some point, she realized he was actually her former fiancé, Carlos. While drunk one night, she pulled on Carlos' sleeve, wishing for him to stay with her in bed and he inevitably complied. Spending the night with her beloved, Banica became pregnant with his child. When imperial messengers began arriving with invitations over the next few months, she had her servants kill them.

When the Beelzenian army later lay siege to the mansion in April, Banica told her beloved not to worry and leave it to them. Raising her arms, her undead horde rose from the ground and attacked the army while Arte and Pollo lead them on a rampage. As the terrified Carlos realized Arte was riding on the revived grand chamberlain, Ron, Banica elaborated on how the undead were all of the mansion's previous servants she had brought back.

Once the Prince questioned what she was doing, Banica explained the realization she had from her journeys abroad, jumping from the window and slowly descending to the ground. After gracefully landing, she danced in circles with the screams of the dying soldiers and the laughter of Arte and Pollo in the background, describing her renewed desire to eat the entire world. Having driven her undead horde across the region to attack the nearby towns, Banica continued indulging her insatiable appetite.

When Carlos attempted to escape a few days later, the Duke sent her twin servants to capture him. Once they successfully brought back the cook, Banica demanded to know why he had suddenly left. After a short silence, Carlos asked if he could take a holiday. Annoyed at the gesture, she denied him the request. She then declared he would continue working for her, though forbidden from leaving the estate.

Soon after, her lover served them soup and she readily devoured it. Seeing Carlos cough blood and collapse, Banica questioned what was wrong and realized it was poisoned before watching her lover die. She then ordered Arte and Pollo to cook her beloved. Served his body for dinner, Banica ate his remains with glee, finding his blue hair was especially delectable for the salad of the first course. While enjoying all the new flavors she tasted, Banica broke into tears. At some point, Banica gave birth to her and Carlos' son.

Ultimate Evil Food

Around August of EC 325, Banica grew curious about her servants' taste and ate Arte. When Pollo approached her soon after, Conchita questioned what it was he tasted like, eating him as well. Once all the food supplies ran out and the still hungry Banica realized she had eaten everything in the mansion, the Duke heard the cry of a baby and remembered the child she had with Carlos. At the revelation that the baby was something to eat, Banica hurried upstairs toward the child.

Once Conchita reached the child, she looked upon the baby's now sleeping form and felt happy despite her empty stomach. As she did so, she heard the demon inquire why she wasn't eating the child. As the demon insisted she must eat the child or die, claiming the powder from the Golden Key was the cause, the Duke saw a faint red mist floating around herself. Surprised the demon blamed the powder when it had only turned her numb, Banica listened to it explain how eating the soup, as well as Carlos's body saturated with the powder, injured her little by little, and that soon she wouldn't be able to hear the demon's voice anymore.

Curious, Banica asked what this had to do with the child. When the demon referred to the baby as a "vaccine", Banica questioned what that was and if it was delicious. After the demon clarified that the baby produced the vaccine, claiming it could counteract the Wrath magic, she remarked that the demonic being seemed to know everything, inquiring if it knew the true identities of Arte and Pollo and whether they were its minions. The demon answered that they weren't minions but reincarnations of Hänsel and Gretel, describing the difficulty of classifying their relationship to it.

When the demon more strongly encouraged her to eat the child, Banica saw the demon begin to take shape in her mind with a red, round body; she refused to eat her son. When asked why, she admitted she didn't know before reaffirming her simple refusal to do so. As the demon raged at her decision, Banica made out its short limbs and tail and continued to resist its influence, declaring her refusal to be spurned by a demon. As she argued, the Demon increasing its influence and she gradually saw the demon's shape with a big nose. When the demon childishly begged, reminding her that she was nothing without food, Banica realized that a red pig was the creature forcing her to eat.

As the Duke wondered if it was the baemu or her mother demanding she eat, the demon said that the child was the only thing left in the home to satiate her appetite. Banica wondered if that was true before coming to a realization, looking upon her right hand. Once she smiled and stated there was more to eat, the Duke announced she would eat herself and the demon as it began to panic. As the weakened Demon pleaded for her to stop, Banica prepared to have her long awaited next meal and ultimate "evil" food. She then asked herself what she tasted like before gorging on her body until there was nothing left.

Demonic Rebirth

"Should you follow their reasoning, we must be "their" servants. However, I had no desire for that. Whatever the facts, this place was already our world. I wouldn't stand to keep company with a parent who cannot let go of their child."

Curious about the taste of the demon, Banica used her contract to devour the Demon of Gluttony along with herself, absorbing its being into her stomach and becoming a demon herself; gaining all of the demon's knowledge and power, Banica refused to give up her ambition to eventually devour the world and allow the gods and their kin to persist, plotting to instead acquire the reincarnating souls of Hänsel and Gretel to help her find the Grave Yard, become the Master of the Graveyard, and herald the Death ending where she would eventually devour everything in existence for her ambition.

Once the Evil Food Eater assumed the previous demon's role as the Demon of Gluttony of the wine glass, she created an illusion of the Conchita Mansion within the dimension of her vessel. Confined to the glass, she waited until Elluka Clockworker retrieved the vessel from her mansion before it was stolen by Phantom Thief Platonic. Amused by the unknowing incarnation of Eve Moonlit, the demon became disappointed the remnant of sloth couldn't be possessed. After the glass was passed onto AB-CIR, Banica conversed with the mage about her replacing the original demon and the knowledge she possessed about Hänsel and Gretel.

AB-CIR later lost possession of the vessel and it was eventually retrieved by Queen Prim Marlon sometime after EC 482; meeting with Prim's court mage Abyss I.R., the demon discovered that the old woman and AB-CIR were just different bodies possessed by the same red cat mage: Irina Clockworker. In EC 490, Abyss I.R. had Banica conjure a gula plague to spread across the Beelzenian Empire so she could goad and kill King Arth I with the epidemic.

Banica appears before Riliane and Alexiel

In EC 491, Abyss I.R. magically moved the demon to one of the Four Mirrors of Lucifenia, making it difficult for anyone but Minister Presi to extract. As part of their plan to possess Queen Anne's son, the mirror was buried on the shores of Lucifenia and soon after discovered by Prince Alexiel and Princess Riliane. Abyss I.R. then summoned the demon and Conchita manifested her shadowy form before them.

Recognizing their matching appearance to Arte and Pollo, Banica presumed them to be the reincarnations of Hänsel and Gretel she desired and smiled. As she brushed a hand through her spectral hair while looking upon the twins, Riliane left and Alexiel extended his arm out to her; Banica then reached out in turn to possess him when she noticed the smiling boy was a unique existence not covered in the sun god's rules. Losing her smile, the hesitant demon retracted her arm. Uncertain what to do, she noticed Riliane walking away and smiled, deciding to possess her instead. The demon flew her spectral form over to the girl and swirled around her.

As her phantom projection possessed the princess, Alexiel intervened and the demon rendered them both unconscious as a result; the Demon of Gluttony then confirmed Riliane wasn't the actual reincarnation of Gretel. Disappointed at the revelation, Banica smiled as Riliane awoke under her influence and expressed her newfound hunger to Alexiel.

Afterward, the possessed princess began constantly eating food from the kitchen to satiate her hunger. On one day, Banica heard the bell chime for their three o'clock snack time and, hungry, appeared before the twins again. As she greedily gazed at their meals, Riliane refused to share her snack with the demon. With a wretched look, Banica stated she could eat the entire world and still be hungry for more. Alexiel then gave the demon some of his snack out of pity.

Claiming she was grateful, she told the six-year-old a secret legend about the ocean: if you wrote a wish, placed it in a bottle, and threw it in the ocean, your wish would come true. Later on, Presi borrowed Banica's power, allowing himself to be completely possessed by her so that he could defeat Elluka Clockworker. After Presi was defeated, Elluka sealed the demon back into the mirror; she was later recalled to the Glass by Abyss I.R. and created another Gula pathogen for the sorceress to kill Queen Anne.

Finding Gretel

"Foolish child. You are to never be reborn. I have taken your soul from your body. I shall make you the foundation for the Master of the Graveyard."

After Ney Marlon was given the glass in EC 505 and contracted to the demon, Banica recognized her soul as that of the actual Arte, learning Abyss I.R. had used Prim to mess with Hänsel and Gretel's fated reincarnations as the Lucifen twins and produce Ney. Afterward, Banica allowed Ney to freely use her power, slowly eroding at her unstable sanity as she continued relying on the demon. When Ney snapped and told the demon to completely consume her at Castle Hedgehog, Banica diverted all her power from the corpse soldiers to her, possessing her entirely and having her undergo a demonic transformation.

After dressing Ney in her attire from life, Banica allowed the crazed assassin to attack her half-brother, King Kyle Marlon. Once Ney was subdued, Conchita's vessel was collected and later sealed by Elluka Clockworker and Gumillia at Lioness Castle. When Abyss I.R. stole the vessels, removed the seals, and killed Ney, Banica used her connection to the former contractor to take the girl's soul from her body. Taking the child's soul by hand, Banica prepared to absorb her into the glass.

Banica then heard someone call out to her in the giant black box and looked back to see it was Kyle. After the king asked who she was, she smiled and laughed, relating that she was who they called the "Demon of Gluttony". Watching him look upon Ney, Banica confirmed her identity as actually being "Gretel" and noted that she should've been born as Riliane, lamenting about the distortion of fate causing the "poor child" to pursue a different life instead.

After listening to Ney tell her brother that she expected to be reborn and play with everyone again, the demon laughed and scorned her for such a ridiculous idea. Proclaiming she'd never be reborn, Banica expressed her plan to use her for the foundation of the Master of the Graveyard. As Kyle feebly failed to stop her, Banica noted that his efforts were pointless before saying she and the era's Soul of Adam would meet again. She then walked away with Ney as an ocean appeared before them and they walked into its depths.

Transported into the red dimension of the wine glass, Banica waited until Ney's memories fully awakened as Gretel. Having finally claimed one of the Servants, Banica had Arte return to her original duties as her cook and maid and shared her full plans to become Master of the Graveyard with her. She later watched Abyss I.R. battle her descendant Germaine Avadonia and Yukina Freezis over two weeks later. When Abyss attempted to use the Marlon Spoon on Riliane, Banica allowed Arte to intervene with her power to cancel out the Demon of Greed's own magic and facilitate Irina's defeat.

Finding Hänsel

"Regardless, he's already made a contract. So let's just watch things take its course from here on..."

After Elluka Clockworker collected the Glass from Mikina Freezis, the demon and servant were sealed in her vessel; sometime later, Irina reclaimed Banica's glass whilst possessing Germaine's body. While Irina became involved in Jakoku's civil war in EC 549, Banica remained uninterested in the conflict she observed from the glass. Toward the end of the century, Irina took up the alias "Julia Abelard" and stored Banica's wine glass on a pedestal in her new mansion's treasury.

In EC 603, Arte possessed Lemy Abelard when the boy took the glass from Julia's treasury, forging a contract between him and the demon; at that time, they confirmed the blond boy was a reincarnation of Hänsel. Julia later gave the Glass of Conchita to Lemy; under the demon's weak influence, the boy began eating anything fed to him while near the glass while "Ney" assisted him when necessary, Banica deciding they should remain largely out of Julia's schemes for the time being.

While Lemy slept on the night of September 2, EC 610, Arte told Banica about Julia and Lemy's criminal organization Père Noël and the red cat mage's political career in Lucifenia being in jeopardy; she also related that Elluka Clockworker, allegedly possessed by Eve Moonlit, had offered him the chance to escape with her and leave Julia to suffer the political and legal fallout alone, giving him until the next day to decide his answer.

When the demon questioned why Lemy didn't use the corpse soldiers, Arte replied that he didn't know how and wouldn't even realize it if he did somehow do it. Banica responded that she should teach him, citing her expertise regarding their summoning. Arte answered back that he had always been too stupid to learn and chided him being caught up in whatever others told him. Banica then declared that he had already forged a contract anyhow so they should just let events take their course.

Afterward, she wondered aloud what decision he would ultimately make and asked Arte for her opinion. The maid sarcastically retorted that him trying to be with both his fake mothers was great, happily noting he'd be coming there with them and remember everything in the end. As Banica prepared to reply about her task, she noticed Lemy there with them in the vessel's dimension and told Arte to look as well. Afterward, the dreaming child's spirit left the world within the wine glass.

Duel of Merrigod Plateau

"You'll likely become a threat to me. Therefore—  I shall reap the benefits of your fighting. Here, with the gods and kin... you shall be eradicated as well, Irina Clockworker!"

Lemy was later fatally shot through the heart on December 26 and buried, Banica's distant power barely keeping him from true death; around a month later, Julia moved the wine glass to his grave before leaving to duel Elluka and Gumillia at Pale Noël's tomb at Merrigod Plateau. Seeing the opportunity to get near Elluka and observe the outcome with her battling the reincarnation of Levia and Behemo, Banica used her power to heal and revive her contractor.

Once Lemy revived from his coma at 2:00 AM on January 29 and Ney directed to take the wine glass with him, Banica congratulated the boy on his resurrection, pointing out his contract with her was the reason for his survival. She then told him to work as payment, instructing him to head north to Apocalypse Cliff where his mother was. Stating they had to accomplish something there and that he had to hurry and not miss the opportunity; the Demon of Gluttony then introduced herself, saying that she would devour all into oblivion.

Over the next twenty-four hours, Banica led him to the location before letting Ney take over. She then watched as Lemy battled Elluka's apprentice Gumillia within the tomb, continuously healing the boy of all damage the mage inflicted upon him. When Gumillia finally killed Lemy with Grim the End, Banica took the boy's soul into the wine glass. After he awoke and recalled Arte by name, Banica noted his memory seemed to be slowly returning. When the child apologized for failing to do anything in the end, the demon told him he had done enough bringing her closer to Elluka.

Seeing the boy's slight confusion, Banica told him to relax and that they'd watch the end of the battle in the meantime. Once she assured him he'd remember more over time, Arte pointed out it was the same with her as the demon opened a portal viewing the outside world. As they watched Julia sob over Lemy's corpse, Arte brought dishes and suggested they all have an early breakfast when Pollo's full memories finally recovered and returned to his role as Banica's servant.

While the three dined together, Banica watched Irina discard Germaine's body and self-destruct her own with Black Box Type S, dragging everyone caught in the blast into Elluka's inner psychological world. When Irina, Gumillia, Eve, Levia, and Behemo confronted one another in their original forms within the mental world, the demon watched Irina reveal her knowledge about Elluka being Levia before turning Eve into the "Master of the Court" and turning the area into the Court.

Once Irina explained the Court she created in Eve could make even gods killable and revealed her intention to destroy everything related to the gods, the threatened Demon of Gluttony decided to intervene. Entering Levia's inner psychological world from the outside herself, the demon overheard Irina exclaim she'd destroy the spirits and Demons of Sin along with everything else afterward. Banica immediately expressed her disinterest in that plan to the "red cat mage".

When the shocked mage questioned why she had joined them, Banica admitted she planned to remain an observer since they shared the same goal of destroying the gods. The Demon of Gluttony then qualified that the "Master of the Court" she had acquired was likely a threat to her and revealed she would therefore reap the benefits of their battle by killing her along with the gods and kin there with her.

Raising her arm into the air, Banica summoned Worldeater into the dimension, introducing them to the "ultimate corpse soldier" before ordering it to devour them all. Irina and Levia retaliated with the fire and lightning magic and three's power collided in a massive blast. Overpowering the three, Banica witnessed Levia, Eve, and Irina's souls fuse into one while everyone else was flung out in the blast. Satisfied with the result, the Demon of Gluttony returned to her vessel.

Victory Meal

"Well, let's leave them alone for a while. There are other matters for us to attend to. Since I've finally assembled you and Pollo— no, the twin gods Hänsel and Gretel."

Later that day, Banica sat before her table while Arte brought out her next collection of meals. She then thanked the maid for the food before digging in. While stuffing food in her mouth with the maid, Banica asked if Pollo wasn't joining them to eat. When Arte pointed out he should still be sulking in the corner, the demon noted something was wrong. Arte denied it, explaining he was just angry since she had nearly killed the person he was calling mother up until recently. Banica immediately retorted how that wasn't fair of him since she did end up failing to do so.

Afterward the maid inquired if that failure would cause them a lot of trouble. The demon swallowed her food before ingesting more, pointing out it could be considered convenient since it assimilated all their nuisances into one person. When the maid then inquired what state the new soul was in, Banica stated the three Ma candidates had become one. Saying it was happily ever after, Arte retorted it wasn't really "happy" and Banica said they should leave them alone for a while. She then admitted there were other matters for them to attend to since she finally acquired her and Pollo before correcting herself that it was the "twin gods" Hänsel and Gretel.

After eating the last dish and the fork with it, Banica admitted they needed to look for the Grave Yard, citing her plan as Master of the Graveyard would be completed once it was found. Arte immediately noted that they couldn't leave the glass as anything but voices outside of places like the Court. Banica then declared they'd have to find a new contractor, saying they needed to complete the goal before the other Masters got too ahead of them. Afterward, she thanked the maid for the delicious meal.

Changing Owners

Afterwards, the Glass of Conchita passed onto a variety of owners over time until it was collected from the Graveyard restaurant by Gallerian Marlon; at that time, she noticed he was already contracted to the Demon of Greed. That night, Banica noticed the tri-soul fusion Ma working with the judge. Later that evening, the Demon of Gluttony watched Gallerian while he read a novel in his study, disappointed she couldn't possess him and wondering what would happen to the "gear" that had fallen into the trap.

She then recalled her previous owners since becoming the demon and the unknown amount of time that had passed. Certain her time to become Master of the Graveyard was soon, the demon thought about her long-awaited opportunity the world and smiled. Later, Banica's glass was among the vessels of sin that laughed at the Clockworker's Doll, telling her they were all the same. Sometime before EC 990, after the Glass awakened, Banica took on the form of the Master of the Graveyard.

World's End

Following the end of the Third Period and its subsequent merging with the Hellish Yard in EC 998, the defeated demon returned to Gasto with her servants and recreated an illusion of the Conchita Mansion there. Afterward, the Demon of Gluttony drowned herself in endless meals in the wake of her failure to bring about the end of the world she planned, dissatisfied with the taste of the illusionary food cooked for her.

Later on, Pollo reported to Banica that the sun god was sending Prince Alexiel, having become Allen Avadonia, to meet a contractor for each of the demons, her being the one for the Demon of Gluttony. Curious about what the sun god was plotting, Banica accepted the terms and awaited the boy's visit. At some point, Arte expressed her interest in seeing her former friend to Banica. Later on, she began eating another meal at her table in the dining room when Allen entered.

Banica ignored the child and continued rapidly eating all the food before her. When Allen tasted one of the dishes twenty minutes later, Banica immediately stopped eating and glared at the boy, expressing her preference that he didn't steal from her meals without permission. After he said it had been a long time, the demon played dumb and asked if they had met before. Once the boy introduced himself as the royal prince of the Kingdom of Lucifenia, Banica claimed to recall Riliane's younger brother and apologized, lying that her memories of the eventful era were vague.

She then put down her fork and knife and sighed, lamenting that the delicious food didn't satisfy her stomach no matter how much of it she ate. Orienting herself toward the servant again, Banica addressed Alexiel and he insisted she call him "Allen". Abiding his request, the Demon of Gluttony asked to confirm about what Pollo had told her and Allen questioned her unbothered reaction about him and her servant's mirrored resemblance. Confused, Banica plainly responded that she could tell them apart.

Afterward, Allen inquired why she became a demon and Banica replied that there were various reasons, having being necessity since there was no other option and half being out of her desire to know what a demon tasted like. The servant immediately pointed out she should've had a vaccine available to her and the amused demon chuckled before noting how long it had been since she last heard that word. She then Mused how the word he and Demon of Gluttony used didn't exist during the era either of them were alive in.

When the boy asked if his terminology was a problem, Banica answered it wasn't and asked if he was aware of the Demons of Sins' true identities. Once he answered he had the rough idea, the pleased demon replied that he should be capable of understanding her lack of desire to follow the reincarnated god kins' reasoning that humanity should be their servants, expressing her belief the world had already belong to humanity regardless of the facts. She continued with the analogy that she refused to keep company with a parent who was unable to let go of their child.

Allen then described her becoming the new Demon of Gluttony afterward and let taking possession of his sister, questioning why he possessed Riliane and not her when he had opened the box too. Banica answered that he couldn't be possessed before correcting herself and saying it was that he was abnormal. Seeing his confusion, the demon elaborated about the knowledge and power she acquired as the demon including all of the sun god's rules she had to follow, citing he simply wasn't covered in them. When Allen asked for elaboration about the "rules", Banica continued her analogy that the parent extends a hand for only the child.

Impatient, Banica inquired if he had any more questions. Before the boy could continue, she interrupted to directly ask what the bat was plotting, clarifying she meant the sun god. After Allen replied he didn't know and was just told to meet with them, Banica queried if that was true. Once Allen pointed out there was no reason for him to lie, Banica accepted the answer, lamenting he could as he pleased since the world had ended and her ambition was incapable of coming true at that point.

Smiling, the Demon of Gluttony stood from her seat and admitted that she had no further interest him since he couldn't tell her the sun god's plan. Expressing her desire to sleep, Allen questioned if she would be returning to her vessel. Banica asked in turn why she would return to the wine glass since she now longer needed to abide "their" rules. Recalling Arte's earlier desire to meet with him, she passed the information onto Allen and told him to see her before he left. Seeing the boy's confusion, she asked if it would be simpler for her to call her "Ney" for him. Afterward, the demon gave her farewell and departed.

Legacy

By the time Elluka Clockworker infiltrated the Conchita Mansion as part of the Empire's investigation into rumors of Banica's cannibalism, Conchita was discovered missing and her castle empty and in perfect order. The Empire determined Conchita had fled to one of its neighboring countries and discontinued Elluka's investigation. Her child that she also left behind eventually had offspring as well and continued for several generations, leading to Germaine Avadonia.

Sanan Noi later created a fairy tale based on her called "Vampiress Vanika" that became famous throughout Evillious, highlighting her legendary birth and remarkable savory. Included in the tale were the "corpse soldiers" that were dug up in the cemetery and cursed to serve her forever as her reanimated servants through the power of her cursed red wine glass. It was said she would wither away if she failed to drink wine made from human blood for three days.

Elluka Clockworker later passed on her knowledge of Banica to the historian Will Jaakko, who later compiled a manuscript regarding the vessels of sin. Centuries after Conchita's death, Yukina Freezis visited the site of her ruined mansion while investigating Will's writings on the Seven Deadly Sins. Among the folklore in literature surrounding Banica was that she was possessed by a glass vessel of sin, which turned her into a "Evil Food Eater".

Historical records conflicted about her actual figure, some saying she was large and plump while others claimed she was beautiful and thin. Many of the dishes and recipes brought back to Beelzenia on her travels were incorporated into its culinary tradition including the Blood Grave wine she loved, which continued to exist nearly two centuries later in the Kingdom of Lucifenia. Ma later created a film regarding Banica's possession, adding her commentary as she watched the film with a captured visitor of Evil's Theater.

Personality and Traits

Conchita was an opsomaniac with an intense desire to consume the most delectable cuisines in existence. Her obsessive behavior was worsened by her mother's abuse and eating everything without any leftovers became a habit for the child. As a result, food became the center of Banica's existence and she dedicated a majority of her life to satiate her endless curiosity for the tastes of every food.

Becoming an insatiable food connoisseur, Banica's appetite began to evolve until she desired to travel abroad and taste foreign meals which recipes she would later take back home. She was initially reasonable with her tastes, eating fine cuisine and other meals considered delicious by the majority, although she was not beyond eating foods religiously considered taboo such as the baemu pig. After developing Blood Grave, the wine became Banica's favorite. Coinciding with her appetite, Banica's table manners were crude and often disturbing to those around her, relentless in stuffing food in her mouth hastily and noisily.

Among her eating habits, Banica often held out her fingers to her mouth to lick them or sample any food or drink on them. Similarly, she often questioned what a new meal would taste like before eating it. Her love of food also became a coping mechanism for Banica, immersing herself deeper and deeper into her craft when confronted with a loved one's death or personal failure. During her journeys abroad, Banica came to the realization that she desired to taste all of the world's foods and it became the center of her existence, to the point that she considered her entire identity to be based on that fact.

But, after being introduced to the world of the "ultimate" food, Banica became enraptured in less favorable delicacies, such as insects, and even began to eat her plates. Under the influence of the Demon of Gluttony, she became persistent in pleasing her endless appetite and lost any boundaries to what she considered food. As her tastes continued to descend, she eventually indulged herself in necrophagia and cannibalism out of curiosity for how humans would taste. Once she concepted the idea to devour herself, Banica believed she was the ultimate food she was desiring and took glee in eating her own being.

Towards the end of her life, Conchita became a recluse, isolating herself within her castle and no longer governing her territory. As part of her apostasy, Banica dined more and more often without concern for the Beelzenian Empire's reaction. When not indulging her appetite, Banica took up a hobby of gardening, although doing so to grow more food for her to eat. Evolving her true goal, Banica resolved to devour the entire world and all its foods for her pleasure. As the Demon of Gluttony, Banica's obsession with food continued unabated, even claiming she could devour the entire world and remain unsatisfied.

Although monstrous while eating, Banica was a calm individual, acting unbothered when first meeting the Demon of Gluttony and unflinchingly conversed with it despite the peculiar situation. Similarly, she loved both her parents dearly, slipping into a depression with each of their deaths, and became defensive when the Demon of Gluttony mentioned her father's involvement in her mother's demise. She was also extremely affectionate towards Carlos, falling in love with him during their reunion and bearing his child. However, after her lover's attempted betrayal and murder-suicide, she was heartbroken and driven to tears.

After making her contract with the Demon of Gluttony, Banica also acted cruel and domineering, unflinching with sending her undead army on a rampage across Grabia. Similarly, she was ruthless towards her employees, expecting them to praise and worship her. Defiance was looked upon as a nuisance and, once considered useless to her, Banica had no qualms killing and eating the "traitors" for offending her. She also took joy in "punishing" her offenders, often by eating them alive. While acting as the demon of the wine glass, Banica enjoyed possessing others and was disappointed when humans were beyond her influence.

In contrast, she appeared to express gratitude toward Prince Alexiel for sharing his snack with her, sharing her knowledge of a legend to him in kind. She also seemed to have affection towards her own child, feeling happy when looking upon the baby. At the same time, Banica was also driven to eat the child to satiate her gluttonous hunger, though resisting when the demon demanded it of her.

Like Carlos, Banica held a close connection to her servants, Arte and Pollo. Having met them as a child, the twins helped the young noble come out of her depression after her mother's death and they quickly became friends. As her personal servants, Banica rarely traveled anywhere without them in tow and relied on them for nearly every task the Duke desired. She also trusted in them to manage her territory and protect the estate as she became negligent in her duties as Duke.

In spite of this, her growing hunger and curiosity for new tastes led to her devouring both faithful servants. But, after becoming the Demon of Gluttony, Banica began seeking to reclaim both servants, absorbing the souls of Hänsel and Gretel from their reincarnations in order to reclaim them. As part of this, the new demon wished to become the Master of the Graveyard, although unaware of its real meaning, and planned to have both her servants with her when the time came.

Skills and Abilities

Banica was a practiced food enthusiast and a major contributor to Beelzenian culture. Practically since the day she was born, Banica had a remarkable appetite and became unmatched in her speed and volume of food intake to the point that she easily won competitions involving the talent. A food enthusiast, Conchita developed an excellent taste in food and was well versed in the tastes and flavors of many delicacies from both within and outside of the Beelzenian Empire, earning her title as "Gourmet Noble Banica". Because of this, she, with the help of Grabia's farmers, was able to concept and create Blood Grave, a fine wine that remained a popular product for nobles across Evillious well after her death. She also developed a keen sense of smell, able to detect even faints scents of a dish's individual components.

Due to her excessive eating, Banica's weight reached over 100 kg, severely crippling her movements and becoming a major detriment to her health. After making her contract with the Demon of Gluttony, the feudal lord's overweight form downsized into a more slender and fit figure, with her health similarly improved to the point that she completely avoided certain death. As part of her deal with the Demon, Banica was capable of eating anything and everything, including indigestible material such as human hair or deadly toxins. When consuming the latter, she became numb but was able to survive. Similarly, the Demon's power allowed any normal injury dealt to Banica quickly heal and any fall from great heights became a slow and light descend. Therefore, her body remained healthy and practically invincible regardless of what she ate, even able to envelope herself completely.

Banica reanimating the dead

Banica was also able to reanimate the dead killed by the Gula disease through the power of the Glass and used this to great effect to guard her home. In spite of the low intelligence of the corpse soldiers, Banica was able to command them effectively, through Arte, to create an unstoppable army. As a downside, Banica's powers and life were connected to the Demon, and its destruction would lead to her conventional death.

But, because she devoured herself and the demon, Banica took on all the former demon's powers, able to manifest in a phantom form long after her death, take possession of individuals who came in contact with her glass, create and enhance the pathogen for the Gula disease, and reanimate the dead through her own power. Despite this, she was also subject to the limitations of the Glass, able to be utilized by Irina Clockworker for her own ends, although even the sorceress admitted her cooperation was unpredictable and could easily ignore its wielder's wishes should she choose.

Character Connections

Carlos Marlon: Banica’s fiancé and later, meal. Banica's feelings during their engagement are unknown, however she saw its cancellation as a failure to comfort herself over; she eventually discovered Carlos was disguised as her cook, Joseph, and fell in love with him, siring a child with the prince in the process. She was left distraught by his attempt to kill her and his own suicide and took comfort in devouring his body, finding him delicious, but began crying while doing so.

Joseph: Banica’s fifteenth chef. Banica saw Joseph as only a means to satiate her gluttonous hunger, and did not have concern for him as a human being. As time passed, however, she began to fall in love with him, and it was during the course of this romance that she discovered "Joseph" had been replaced by Carlos.

Arte: Conchita's servant and later, meal. Conchita had a close friendship with Arte stemming from childhood; due to this relationship, Banica relied on Arte to attend her every need as a loyal servant, even trusting the maid to reign over her territories. While devouring her later out of curiosity, Banica continued to depend upon Arte, seeking out her reincarnations to merge with her again. 

Pollo: Conchita's servant and later, meal. Conchita had a close friendship with Pollo stemming from childhood; due to this relationship, Banica relied on him to attend her every need as a loyal servant despite his evident stupidity, even trusting him to reign over her territories. While devouring him later out of curiosity, Banica continued to depend upon Pollo, seeking out his reincarnations to merge with him again. 

Meguru Conchita: Banica’s mother. The strict dietary discipline and harsh punishments that Banica received from Meguru helped inspire in the noble to have an even greater fascination with eating; after her death, Banica was inconsolable for a time, and resented the Demon of Gluttony for its perceived role in her death.

Unknown Son: Banica's infant son she had with Carlos. Although about to eat the child under the demon's suggestion, Banica inevitably chose to devour herself instead, sparing the boy.

Master of the Graveyard: Banica's later incarnation. After taking the place of the Demon of Gluttony, Banica attempted to become the new Master of the Graveyard, although unaware of the title's true meaning.

Conceptualization and Origin

• Banica's name is a torsion of the English word "cannibalism"; the reverse of her Japanese name makes up the "caniba" portion of the wordplay while the reverse of her father's Japanese name makes up the "lism" part.
• When crafting the story for Evil Food Eater Conchita, mothy desired to make Banica more akin to a monster rather than a human.

Curiosities

• She shares the same birth month (November) with her Vocaloid.
• Banica's father, Muzuri, wished to name her "Muraramurajakotasupopopo"; when asked about the origin of the name, mothy stated: "Ask Mr. Muzuri."
• Mayrana Blossom being mentioned to not leave any leftovers while eating at a local inn in Toragay may be a reference to Banica.
• Due to their lineage to Duke Venomania, both Banica and her child had the potential to develop Hereditary Evil Raiser Syndrome and pass it onto future generations.
• In Epic of Evil: The Daughter of Evil Fanbook, Banica was voted as the nineteenth most popular character in The Daughter of Evil series by Japanese fans, along with Mariam Futapie, Aile Freezis, Prim Marlon, Arkatoir Marlon, Ma, and the "Demon of Gluttony".
