What's on your mind?
So mothy is releasing a new PV for Regret message and letter she kept waiting for tomorrow.
Shall be interesting
Mothy has a new song for [gLoR10us], a Rin & Len Compilation album. The song is interestingly titled 合わせ鏡の使者 (Messenger of the Opposite Mirrors).
We can listen to the album crossfade here http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm32174292. His song is the second song.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOTHY
Hello everyone! Just wanted to announce that the Writing Style Guidelines have been up for a while now. As you may or may not know, the wiki has recently been implementing a new writing standard, and so the guidelines were also made to help orient users. Hopefully you can give them a read!
On a sidenote, I'd also like to ask people for ideas on how to make the guidelines more visible to wiki users. Right now, I'm thinking of adding a separate section to them on the main page. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Just like the title says, this announcement appeared on Twitter.
This new one seems to be produce by amipro, known for making a few for the Fushigi Yuugi series. This time, it seems the actors will look more like their novel counterpart (unlike the first one).
Hey guys, this got brought up a long while back but we've decided we're going to make a section on Group pages for the "Organization" of a group, so people know the way that evillious organizations are structured.
This would lead to unfortunately scant sections for pages like the Association, but would be very helpful for new fans to understand the scope and workings of groups like Pere Noel or even Apocalypse, especially as we get more information on that group. Pere Noel is made up, for example, of the seven main members officially called the Sept, all of whom have their own duties in the organization, but it also comprises a black market. The Freezis Foundation similarly gets a more and more complex structure as the series goes on.
So we just want an official place to explain that 0 0
Now that the major new release period's over for the time being and we're left waiting for the Survival Ma PV, it'd be a good time to emphasize some areas for clean up.
First off, Location sections in Location articles have been largely neglected lately. Any users who'd like to go through every article and properly link those sub-sections, be my guest. Keep in mind, some locations may be using synonyms or alternate terminology in the article; link them all the same. It doesn't matter if the Freezis Mansion's "banquet hall" is called the "dining hall" in a few articles. However, a "living room" isn't a "drawing room" so be sure to correct any instance where the location in question isn't properly labeled in articles.
That's obviously a lot of various places to look over for a lot of articles so I understand this will take a while. If you're working on new articles for one of our other projects, consider this a lower priority.
Mines for the Tailor novel have been slowed down as of late. We're experimenting with having users work on adding/updating info as it's posted and discussed in the thread rather than all at once so as to lighten the workload for all parties and hopefully speed up the overall updating as a result. We'll see how it turns out versus how Pierrot was handled.
Because of Tailor and the latest DoE manga volume, I'm holding off on lowering our requirements for minor characters getting pages until we're mostly done with what's currently on our plate. We'll still be getting quite a few new character articles though due to these new releases so the content flow's not halting quite yet.
Let's try to make the best use of this lull we're getting before the next major release!
Well today's the day a certain Jakokuese tailor gets her story released in light novel form. As a reminder, please share any information regarding the novel in the discussion thread before editing/adding any articles so we can confirm and/or corraborate whatever sources employed over the next few weeks. It's another light novel which means a lot of info to go over.
On another note, I'm going to add the Disambiguations category for all those disambiguation pages we have, just to make it easier for us to group and navigate them as a whole.
We're approaching that holiday season but there's no break here. With recent progress, I'm greenlighting the RL Project. Put simply, it's what many of you've been waiting for: an organized effort to give artists articles. But not just artists! Companies, fellow Vocaloid Producers, this project aims to have us begin covering.
I want this to be a very user driven project so there isn't a specific list or criteria for getting these articles posted, beyond them not being stubs. If there's an artist or Vocaloid Producer involved in Evillious works that you want to get an article, then start working on it in your sandbox! Once you're finished, contact me and we'll move onto getting it posted.
This requires a lot of research on our community's end. Not everyone is familiar with every artist or their work so I ask that all users participating find references and copy/paste them to your individual sandbox (preferably under the "References" section) so it can be readily fact-checked.
The general format for these articles will be as follows:
A basic history section should be included. The minimum should be professional releases pertaining to Evillious, though other major works or personal biographies may be included.
These sections will vary depending on the individual/company. But they should all their works. The minimum should be official Evillious material, though other major works may be included. Depending on the article, more than one section may be included. Format these sections as lists, using scroll boxes and tables as needed.
Our standard for these sections used in other articles. Images of brands and Evillious social media avatars may be included. Links to official websites, social media, and more should be included for External Links.
To help keep us organized and updated on all these new articles, lists similar to our Evillious Cast List and Evillious Term List will be set up. Due to this, a new "Lists" category will be created to help compile all these miscellaneous articles and make it easier on our editing community to reference any of them. Should we have multiple articles for a given type, categories will also be created for Artists/Producers/Companies for a similar purpose.
But what about those that don't have enough information or interest to receive articles? References to them will be linked to the afformentioned list article (assuming they don't have a wikipedia article elsewhere). If users feel there's a lot that individual has done and should be recognized for, then start working on an article for the person!
On a separate note, these article formats can be improved upon and I would like users to discuss ideas here. To throw a few questions at our community:
1) Would you like to see these articles also include their own infoboxes? If so, what would be the criteria/information included?
2) Would you like Producer/Artist articles to include an Inspiration and Style section, if applicable, like Akuno-P? Are there other sections you'd like to see included?
Well, the big album release for Original Sin Story has passed and we're moving forward with the rest of the year. While PHP teased the Envy novel for December, we haven't had anything else confirmed to be coming out before then and that's perfectly. There's enough as is.
In light of that, I'm glad to say that the minor character list from months back has been completed (barring Willus who's in our remaining Pierrot articles to finish up). Because of the new information provided for Maria Moonlit, I'll be lowering our line quota again to roughly 30 lines so she can receive her own article as part of our OSS updates. That means a dozen characters qualify in total:
Aside from that, Original Sin Story: Complete Edition's info shouldn't take too long to update and we've been doing pretty well with Pierrot. Assuming no other major releases occur within these next few months, we should finish up these and our other major updates soon(tm) and be able to move onto new content throughout the fall season.
No time to celebrate but we're making satisfactory progress. Keep it up!
Well, summer's come and squatted already and we're still working. Of the 170+ new/existing articles that are affected by the Pierrot novel, we're on the last 30. While that's an awesome milestone, some of these remaining articles are going to require the most extensive work, including those that were also part of the list of new articles from my last update.
We're ahead of original estimates so let's keep it that way. However, I want to address a few major updates that will be occurring:
A major change to wiki terminology is going to occur here. While the meanings between the two have their similarities and differences, we'll be keeping our translation of 転生 consistent. "Reincarnation" will now be the universal term for it. Its other translation we've had for it as "transmigration", most prominently used for Eve, will no longer be applied.
Now that obviously doesn't fix the issue with the term being applied to Eve since her hypnosis isn't "reincarnation" or "transmigration" in the strictest sense of the word either way. To accomodate this, we will continue to use "incarnate/incarnation" as the general, more flexible term as it can apply to any number of conditions or states of being both literal and figurative, and is likely how the term was applied in Eve's case.
However, for Eve specficially, we'll be using "incarnation" in the introduction sections to her different incarnations. Example: "She was one of Eve Moonlit's incarnations." This'll keep the terminology accurate to the original Japanese while limiting the amount of confusion among our readers. To further this effect, I'd like these introduction sections to link incarnation to hypnosis.
Mind, Body, and Soul
One of the highlights of mothy's releases these past six months has been the elaboration on some of the mechanics of the Evillious universe. While the terminology has been used for a while now, the new clarification finally warrants article for the "mind", "body", and "soul" and all the different rules about them that mothy's provided over the years.
With that, we'll be fixing up past inconsistencies in translation (specifically with "mind"). Many articles involving magic have already gone through or begun the updating process with these upcoming articles in mind. This will also give an article for us to explain related concepts mothy introduced such as the "Inner Psychological World".
We'll be testing a new template in the near future that's been undergoing development for a little while now. The template's intention is to organize information in our larger character articles that cover various different arc and works. Therefore, the hope is it'll allow new readers an easier ability to focus on information from one light novel or story arc, as well as potentially remove scroll space for readers.
Because it is experimental, it may not work out but we'll be doing extensive tests on different articles to see if the final product works and (if so) how extensive should we be with the tags and their organization. The final product however will ultimately be polled though for reader opinion. It's a fairly major addition that needs to be done right if implemented.
There were other projects that were put on hold due to resources needed for SCP/Pierrot that will hopefully see the light of day later this season. While there has been great passion and effort put into updating information, we need to keep the train going for a while longer before we'll finally be finished.
I'm confident that we will be able to keep pace, however, so that's all for now!
It's been a ridiculously busy time here on the wiki since our brief break in January but we've seen been working daily. On top of us still going through the process of implimenting Seven Crimes and Punishments info, we also have Fifth Pierrot right on our heels to add to the massive weight we're lugging around.
Good news is, SCP's on its latter 10% of articles needing polished changes (hopefully to be done by mid-summer latest). We're also already beginning to add info from Pierrot as we reach the final chapters worth of information extracting.
All of this means lots of articles are going to be added and moved around. So, with that in mind, I'm lowering the bar on our requirements for minor characters to get character articles. A polished (named) minor character section at around roughly 45 lines will qualify now even without a canon illustration of their face.
Including all those into the estimates, the following 17 minor character section will now be on our timetable to receive individual articles:
I know it's a lot to manage on top of everything else. This will likely be an extensive project for us to work on alongside adding info to SCP and Pierrot relevant articles. However, with all the new articles we've already been adding, I think it can be considered just a continuation of the assembly line at this point.
The Pierrot novel mining will hopefully be finished by the end of next week. After that, we'll be working all through the spring and summer to finish before mothy drops the next big thing on us. Cheers~!
We're reaching the end of the cycle, everyone!
December, January, February, and now March has been back-to-back releases of new Evillious material for us to keep track of and it's been quite the season as a result.
While we're technically still going through Wrath and Epilogue stuff on the discussion threads, I want to lay out the general roadmap regarding the Seven Crimes and Punishments material.
Priorities on updating articles will be as follows:
This is pretty straightforward. We have a lot of minor characters added and being expanded so it's important we keep all this polished. Locations/Groups requires very general information on our part, and therefore can be inputted as is even with our very rushed mines of info from the story without worrying about causing inaccuracies.
Characters require the most specific information and therefore should be done while we do double checks on translations to make sure we're not dealing with any errors. Likewise, character articles like Allen are going to be prioritized last. It's simpler for us to focus on characters with very brief appearances and polishing them up than trying to tackle a character like Allen who experiences it all.
As an aside, we won't be touching Wrath and Epilogue stuff until the thread gets through it, just so we can focus on what's already been out and discussed. Let's keep our focus on what we've already had on our plate.
On a side note, you may notice the additions of articles for different demons, with more on the way. As a byproduct of this, Sin of _____ articles will be converted to follow the traditional format of other Magic Tools articles and their main article name will be of the vessels of sin. This will eliminate some redundant information with the demons and keep the articles organized and concise to their subject matter.
New articles will also be popping up afterward for new groups, locations, characters, etc. that meet our current requirements. The discussion is still ongoing for some aspects of organization and will be left to the threads until a consensus is reached. We have plenty to work on already without additional discussion.
We have less than two weeks before the next light novel comes out. While I doubt we'll be done with our work on SCP before then, we should still try to get through as much as possible as there are other projects users have been asking for that I'd like us to push through once we get through this piled-on workloard.
Among these is adding categories for Humans and Gods, additional pages for artists and publishers, and some experimental new templates we want to try out for pages.
It's still a wonderful time to be an Evillious fan and we should be keeping that drive going~!
It's been a busy holiday season for Evillious fans. New stuff's been announced, old stuff's ending, tons of new information has been released for discussion. Tons of material to digest. Because of all this, our six month report was delayed until the end of January so we can focus on getting these loads of information processed over the next few weeks!
While the discussion is ongoing, we'll be moving forward with the Magic Tools expansion under the assumption the status quo won't change in regards to vessel of sin-related articles. Therefore, Magic Tools will be handled with a similar format to Magic, containing a History, Mechanics, and Tools and Devices section.
History and Mechanics will be for magic tools in general, like with Magic. Tools and Devices (like Magic's Spells and Powers) will list individual articles for the following magic tools:
The "Very Amazing Octopus" will also be listed, but link to the Ziz Tiama section of Bolganio Wildlife for the time being. If there are other tools or devices that you believe should be listed as magic tools, bring them up here.
Vessels of Sin will be handled in the same format as Magic Tools, though keeping to general vessel of sin info; information regarding the relationship between the Demons of Sin and the vessels they inhabit will also be included there for now.
A section for "Vessels" will be used insead of "Tools and Devices" for this page. It will link to the individual "Sin of _____" articles, creating a natural flow of information from general to specific in these new articles.
All Magic Tool pages (besides Magic Tools itself, of course) will have a section for "Users" like we did with expanding the different spells/powers into articles. This means anyone who used a magic tool/device in any magical capacity (including non-possessed vessel owners) will be listed.
Categorization will be affected by this immediately. The following categories will be sub-sections in this order:
Magic > Magic Tools > Vessels of Sin
The Magic page will have the same list as the Magic Tools page for "Tools and Devices".
This is a smaller expansion than what we did with Magic and so should hopefully be done in a shorter time. This should help readers with identifying and understanding these individual tools and devices where it previously lacked and be a good place to define specific tools with a different or ambiguous connection from similarly named objects (Black Box and Sin in particular).
I hope everyone had is having a happy holiday season. Let's get excited for this brand new year filled with new releases!
December's here and things are going to be really heating up over the next few months. To keep the train going, we're going to be expanding a new area in the wiki: Magic.
Now a little while back, we added a page for Magic. With the Gift novel's release, this page is now undergoing some reorganization. As part of that, we'll be expanding this area of mothy's mythos. That's right, the sub-sections under the Spell section will be getting their own articles. An example page for Clockwork Secret Art has already been posted.
In it's place, the section on the Magic page will be repurposed as a list linking to the individual articles. Due to the new information learned in the past few months, some sub-sections will be put together and others will be segregated; likewise, some will have their names changed and galleries may be included if illustrations exist.
All interested users are asked to take a spell and start writing up an article in your sandboxes.
Because of the recent discussion calling for the addition of dedicated pages for flora and fauna in the series, we're holding off on articles for magic tools like the Very Amazing Green Onion and Ziz Tiama, though the long-term plan is that these will also receieve their own articles along with Sin, Vessels of Sin, etc.
These new articles will, for now, only have one new category: "Magic". If needed, new sub-categories will be added later on. Infoboxes are being considered for these pages as well.
As a side note, I've decided we'll be removing our family tree sections for the time being. It was a nice experiment but the section is clearly not ready to be implimented as is and has suffered greatly with the release of the Gift novel.
All users that help remove this section, please type "Removing family tree" in your Edit description so that the templates can be easily found and readded in the potential future.
I understand this won't make a lot of people happy (myself included) but it's best we don't keep a broken section around until we find a long-term solution.
That is all. Thank you and I hope everyone is having a happy holidays!
Since December onward is allegedly going to be release after release after release for our little fandom, I am going to be pushing out a few additional changes on top of what we're already adding/linking/editing.
First up, Pere Noel codenames. Due to the Gift novel, we have now learned every member's codename and it has helped us realize we completely misinterpreted Pierrot's song PV with the Roman numerals. As a result, we will be removing the Roman numerals from their codenames.
Based on how The Muzzle of Nemesis PV applies one of the codenames in English, we'll be following suit on this format. We will spell out the cardinal number (First, Second, Third, etc.) followed by the codename (Santa Claus, Dealer, Sleep Princess, etc.).
This will apply to all instances the full codenames are used. That means Five the Pierrot and its related articles will be renamed "Fifth Pierrot".
Next up, galleries. First, a small overhaul on our gallery tabs. These will be the new tabs used for non-media articles:
The major change is the separation of Merchandise from our Miscellaneous tab. The reasoning? It helps separate the clutter of all the different products a character/series creates vs the miscellaneous illustrations or other portrayals.
Keep in mind, any physical product sold separately from the light novels counts as merchandise (ie, playing cards, figurines, music boxes, etc.) and does not count additional manuals, bookmarks, or similar products that are given as a part of the light novel.
The second big change is that the names for many tabs have been shortened. This has been done to conserve space while leaving room for new tabs in the future. These tabs still serve their same function so don't overthink them.
In terms of organization, the Songs tab will have one big change. To simplify the organization and emphasize the progression in art quality and style, Song illustrations will be ordered by release date of the individual song, like with Books and Manga.
Finally, these major changes are going to be in regards to The Lunacy of Duke Venomania manga. As mentioned previously, there will have to be some (arguably) major changes to article being done in light of some rather huge mistranslations of the text. While the retranslation isn't finished and released yet, we'll be fixing some of the major errors.
Other changes will come and go as we acquire more specific translations.
That should be enough to keep us all busy. Over and out.
It's been a little while since I have made any public announcements here. For over a month, the wiki's been adding info from Gift. Out of the 117 articles that were in need of updating, less than 20 remain and most of those have already been touched upon. We're bleeding into November with this, but it's understandable and we'll just have to keep working til it's done.
On top of that, we got some more works to worry about. Of the four Waltz of Evil short stories emailed to those that purchased the guidebook from Animate, we've obtained three of them. Once we have the fourth in our hands and translated, we'll get started on implementing the necessary articles.
On the manga front, The Daughter of Evil: Act 1 will be a high priority once full translations are posted. We'll be able to more accurately update information that's new or was previously mistranslated in Cloture/Wiegenlied. And finally, The Lunacy of Duke Venomania manga will be receiving a retranslation for better quality. It really needs it and the changes will greatly affect some articles here on the wiki.
That's a lot of information we'll be dealing with, not to mention future projects we'll hopefully be ready to work on by New Year (and the upcoming DoE Act 2 in December). And then a few months down the line is the Pierrot novel and the cycle will start all over again.
We have a lot to cover til March so let's keep up the good work. That'll be all, thank you.
As of today, we are now beginning to implement all the information from the Gift novel that's been gathered and discussed into our articles
which means still no break....... joy.
Within the past month, we've learned more about this light novel within the first month of release than we have for any other light novel. The record time we've almost completely dissected the book deserves praise to the community for staying on top of it.
And not just that. The Muzzle of Nemesis album and its contents was also dissected within the same timeframe and had huge amounts of contributions from a lot of users here. Thanks to that, we pulled together all the information faster than ever before with other albums.
I giving my heartfelt gratitude to all those contributing to the discussion threads in these past two months and participating in some of these important topics.
Moving forward, we'll probably be working on Gift til the end of October, maybe a bit into November if things slow done. Our wiki also still needs skilled and dedicated coders to help us with developing new templates, as our wiki should continue to grow on all fronts.
Regardless, the next major release isn't until December so we have a lot of time to polish our articles and make some progress.
Again, my congratulations to everyone for helping add to the Evillious fandom.
