To take Resi's quote into context, I also said something to the effect of:
"It doesn't matter to me what your position is, just consider how wide you're casting the net."
I'm neutral, all things considered. Keep them all, remove some, or remove them all (that last one saves me lots of thinking), as long as everyone's keeping in mind what we're talking about her when we're speaking generalizations? So we'd be removing:
"What if" scenario illustrations?
Images released as part of the personal promotion to an official work?
Illustrations promoting a Japanese holiday?
Illustrations of just the character?
Fan wanted character designs too?
These are all posted on Ichika's blog or twitter, and all dealing directly with EC characters. For all intents and purposes, they aren't "official" material because they weren't published through a company with a price label attached.
Now, if someone wants to make an argument that Ichika's works fall under a product of association, be my guest. I see no reason not to.
That said, I think this is a non-issue. Ichika has no issue with us posting her works here, she just doesn't want us foreigners seeing the pics and thinking they're official (she's only just recently discovered overseas fans follower her on twitter after all).
The only difference between her posting a comic celebrating Kiss Day with Riliane and Banica and any of the zanniness happening in Aku Musu is one's got a publisher releasing it. "official" and "canon" are two separate things.
As for space, are we going to then be debating cut off periods for when galleries have too many images? Octo asked me what if Ichika made illustrations into oblivion. My answer was "What if Elluka kept appearing in light novels into oblivion?"
Have you seen the Merchandise we add to the Story of Evil? Riliane's the biggest gallery (for Misc) I can think of and (at max width for wikia's fluid ui) is five rows.
And moving this out of just illustrations by Ichika (and artists in general), what about mothy? His treatment towards the Nemesis poem is like it's unofficial, but we still at least acknowledge its existence in trivia for his official works (specifically in relation to The Muzzle of Nemesis). A lot of people cite it'd be different if it was mothy, so does that actually change anything?
And then to leapfrog off the anon, what are we going to argue is "canon" based vs "official" as is being brought up in other posts? Male Banica's based on canon, as Octo points out it is Ichika playing with her design for the original character she created and has illustrated for official works.

This announcement's meant to be a dislcaimer, nothing more; a gesture of good will towards Ichika for giving me her time to clarify her feelings. Like I said before, I think it's a non-issue but don't care either way what we do, so long as its handled with some tact.
